Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours
-
RMartinez:
...Some keep bringing up Denmark and Australia, like McCartney owes those places some personal favor. Guess what? He doesn't...
I agree that "owe" may be a strong word to use, but it's not that far-fetched. A lot of emotion occurs at a Paul McCartney concert. I can't think of the images of grown men sobbing at one of Paul's shows -- and then consider your position at the same time. It's a give-and-take thing.
RMartinez:
...McCartney canceled a show in Syracuse, NY in 1993. He has yet to play a rescheduled show there...
Those same citizens of Syracuse had the relatively convenient option of traveling a couple of hundred miles to see Paul in New York City, Philly, Boston, etc.

Macsback:
The tickets are expensive enough without travelling all over the place to see him, the last time I seen Macca was in 2010 - the show hasn't changed much since then so i'm not really missing anything. Glad you enjoyed you're time in Scotland, will you be back in the future?
I hope so! I have great friends in there and loved the exercise going up the Wallace monument

Lazy- I didn't say they didn't count at all, I said for the sake of my argument, I was lumping them with the dates from 1990 as a "90's" tour...since there are literally no other tour dates in the 80's, and it seemed silly to view that as a figure of it's own. The setlist was practically the same, the band was the same, the style was the same etc... RMartinez- He DOES owe Australia and Denmark. I've nevre had a McCartney concert cancelled on me, and I don't know how I 'd live with it if he never rescheduled.
I feel very bad for you.

I feel very bad for you, considering you obviously don't have as strong of a musical connection to Paul as I do.

I would go see a full lineup. But no Christine McVie means no me. I saw Stevie Nicks open for Rod Stewart a few weeks ago and while she souded just like the record, she was a bore.

if fleetwood mac reformed and played a one off gig in my garden..im not sure i could be arsed to open the curtains.

bottom line is that paul mccartney owes south america nothing...to him its just another continent or country. mccartney is a brit from irish heritage...he lived and brought alot of his kids up in scotland and his ex and current wives are american. apart from the countries mentioned, nowhere else has any significance. infact south america should think themselves lucky that hes been there at all...as was said earlier,im not sure even the beatles could be arsed and they went everywhere

He only stopped off at South America for a final big pay day - he's said a while back he wanted to tour places he's never been, that's SA out of his system now, tis a shame they never seen him in his prime.

I would not spend my money now to see them, but I did see them in 1976 (with The Eagles as their opening act!) here in Atlanta.
