Be sure to give us a review! I'm curious about it...

I will do eventually, but maybe first I should start with The Smiths albums, I have the box set (8 albums and newly remastered by Johnny Marr), only cost me £30 US amazon sells it for $66, I have listened to it endlessly.

Review #1 - The Smiths - 1984 (2011 remaster) Track listing and review: Reel Around The Fountain - Classic opener. A fantastic combination of Morrissey's vocals and lyrics and the bands music, the little piano and organ in the background make great contributions. Morrissey's voice sounds so sincere. You've Got Everything Now - Catchy rhythm, and an even catchier chorus. You can hear the 'realness' in his voice. Miserable Lie - To me this is one of the weaker tracks, when the instruments start crashing, well I like that bit. Pretty Girls Make Graves - The bass and the vocals go hand in hand. Nice lyrics 'Nature played it's trick on me/I lost my faith in womanhood etc'. The jangly guitar outro is a nice touch. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle - The lullaby guitar is the star of the song. This one's a mystery to me but some lines are written superbly. This Charming Man - Amazing track, this is just pure magic. When the chiming guitar starts you know you're in for a treat. The lyrics are great and the vocals are powerful. One of their best. Still Ill - I love this song, right from the opening lyric 'I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving' and the guitar work is killer, another great vocal performance, sounds so honest and true. Hand In Glove - The bands debut single, the harmonica was allegedly used to mimic 'Love me do' as that was The Beatles' debut single too! Another fine bass line from Andy Rourke too. What Difference Does It Make? - I like the song but the version from the John Peel session is even better (guitar heavier, better bass, better vocals etc). I Don't Owe You Anything - Another one of the weaker tracks for me. Not much to say on this one. Suffer Little Children - A sad song about the Moors murders in the 60s. The melancholy guitar sets the tone immediately. Overall rating 8/10

You've got less albums to review!! I know I'm banished from this thread, but I have to drop in and say I do love this album. Still Ill, This Charming Man, and Reel Around The Fountain are all fantastic. Great job on the review.

In all honesty, thank you - and those are indeed fantastic tracks. How many Costello albums do you have? 32 studio albums is quite a bit.
-
I'd say more around 30, some of those are just background music to a T.V. show, they're to rare for me to track down.
-
At least all of The Smiths and Morrissey's studio albums have been top 10 in the UK charts.

I can't argue against that.

Finally, a fight where no one will end up being banned at the end of it. Love the review, and loving the banter even more. I'm just off to make a bag of popcorn so I can watch this in style.
-
Haha well, he 'can't argue against that.' so I dunno what to do now.
-
Alright, for the sake of keeping this banter going, I have found that Elvis has had 11 Top 10 albums in the U.K. charts over a span of 16 years! Your move?

Do what other board members do--bring up random information that doesn't relate in the slightest to the conversation, and then get mad about it.

1984 - 2000 = 16 years, right then, so during that period *cracks knuckles* The Smiths Studio albums in top 10 UK charts: 4 Live albums in top 10 UK charts: 1 Compilation albums in the top 10 UK charts: 4 Total number of albums in the top 10 UK charts from 1984 - 2000 = 9 Morrissey Studio albums in the top 10 UK charts: 6 Compilations in the top 10 UK charts: 1 Total number of albums in top 10 UK charts from 1984 - 2000 = 7 So there, 16 albums.

I'm saving that for later.

Hmmm, I guess I really can't argue against facts, I just have to accept that Elvis isn't that popular. I learned that the hard way when I wore 3-D glasses on Halloween and told people I was Elvis. How 'bout all the great musicians Elvis has worked with over the span of his career? Worked with Mr. McCarteny, Bacharach, Allen Toussaint, and he married Diana Krall.
-
In real life I don't know many Morrissey fans either, but it's their loss anyway. Morrissey's worked with Johnny Marr Tony Visconti Jeff Beck Mick Ronson Kirsty MacColl He did tour with David Bowie for a spell and he's got Iggy Pop opening for him in the fall in Los Angeles. And he never married. Edit: he recored a duet with Siouxsie Sioux too.
-
Johnny Marr is a great guitarist. Love his work on the two The The albums (Mind Bomb, and Dusk). Morrissey has certainly worked with some great musicians. But Elvis had his own T.V. show

T.V shows are too mainstream. http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/livingicons/vote/ By the way that Mr. Green smiley is mine!
