On Halloween I saw Johnny Marr play at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney. Great, great, great show. He had a fantastic band behind him and his voice was in fine form. It was also his 50th birthday so everyone sang 'Happy Birthday', and there was marriage proposal right before Marr played 'There Is a Light That Never Goes Out'. Highly recommend seeing him if anyone gets the chance.

RE: Coming Soon... Recommend and Discuss Theater/Cinema Films
Man of Steel is my most anticipated movie of the year. The cast is great, the script is written by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer (Batman Begins), and directed by Zack Snyder so it's guaranteed to look amazing. Trailer #3:
The next Hobbit movie also sounds promising; hopefully the length is cut down for this one, though. -
RE: RIP...for all that have passed
Today hasn't been a good day.
Carmine Infantino, co-creator of The Flash and Batgirl, plus a major driving force behind the Silver Age of comics, passed away today at the age of 87.
RIP The best penciller ever.

RE: General Television Talk
I've really been enjoying New Girl this season, I think it's been infinitely better than Modern Family, which I feel sunk into mediocrity with this current season. Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series were both great cartoons. It's a shame Cartoon Network seems to like canceling shows that are both critically acclaimed and draw a big amount of viewers.
: Also, Red Eye w/Greg Gutfeld is a gem of a show.

RE: Today's Mainstream Music
I'm in agreement with Nigel. There is SO much great music being made in this day and age. It seems like everyday now I'm discovering a new indie band or singer that is absolutely phenomenal. They key is finding the right stuff and looking from there. Kimbra (I can't give her enough praise) and The Stepkids are just two of my favorites that are both knocking it out of the park currently.

Obama won't build Death Star http://www.opposingviews.com/i/politics/white-house-says-we-won-t-build-death-star Damn, I was looking forward to this. Think of all the jobs. It could have been Obama's greatest achievement. I guess now they care about the deficit.

RE: RIP...for all that have passed
RIP ~ Huell Howser 1945-2013 Don't know how well known he is outside of California, but he was a state treasure here. Never before, and I doubt I will ever see again, a man so friendly and unique, with a genuine interest in the state of California and it's locals. I'm sure God just needed a host for 'Heaven's Gold'. He'll be dearly missed.
