At least with Obama's Health care plan I can at least have the chance of being able to get oxegyn and a pace maker. With Romney , He says to hell with people like me we don't matter At least with the current adminstration I have a roof over my head and food to eat, , With Romney, again to hell with people like me, to him the poor do not matter. Us poor are not lazy just unemployable, honest and trying to make a way for ourselves. love doris

At the risk of being personally attacked, having my character and sanity questioned, and told how much I must hate America for asking questions, I would like to ask a few questions. Do Democrats truly not understand Romney?s binder comment? The phrasing was clumsy, but why do Democrats think it bad for a governor to look for qualified women to work in his administration? Did he only hire women for minor positions? Were his lieutenant governor, chief of staff, and several cabinet members women? Do Democrats not understand Romney?s 47% comment? It was also poorly stated, but did he say he would not care about 47% of the people if he were president or did he say 47% will vote for Obama no matter what and it would be a waste of time trying to get their vote? The Big Bird cartoons are funny, but do Democrats truly believe Romney would fire Big Bird? If Big Bird relies on only a small amount of government funding, how would cutting such funding harm him? Or her. What gender is Big Bird? Romney invests in companies that deal with China. I cannot see why this is a bad thing, but has Obama ever invested in such companies? Romney is wealthy. Why is this bad? Is Obama poor? Why was John Kerry?s wealth acceptable while Romney?s is not? How many recent American presidents were not millionaires? Are these the most important issues facing your nation or are they distractions that keep people from discussing issues more complicated than a sound bite? Why is it better to discuss sound bites and retweet insults than it is to study issues and discuss them civilly? I am not American, but if I were I would be more concerned with jobs and voter suppression. Both Obama and Romney have said they would create the most jobs. Both have also said the private sector, and not government, creates jobs. Are they both lying? Is either talking about voter suppression? Why are people talking about Big Bird more than the state taking away your right to vote?

He kind of is, lol. When it comes to rock and roll, he's the boss, all the superstars know it. And all kinds of famous artist behave like fans around him. He's star of the stars. I think Julia Roberts sat next to him in some gala and she said she never have received so many messages in her life as that night, go figure. And if still some doubt remains... let the man say it himself: 11.56 Paul: "I have a longer career that all of you put together"

For instance, if you mention a protest happening on the street, you can go jail, unless the protest has been authorized by the goverment. Yes! a peaceful protest, just like some pro-enviroment people do, as peaceful as Gandhi. I don't mean participating on it but just talking about it. Even if it's for criticizing it. In the end we just have to shut up here... anything you say about politics could mention something declared illegal and so punished now, so go figure. At least we STILL can talk about anything offline.) * that law is still a project in Spain, but the party that is projecting it controls the parliament -

See, I take issue with the direction of your comments already. You?re essentially preemptively playing the victim by implying that if someone disagrees with you, it?s because we think you?re insane, of poor character, or at odds with America. I?m not going to deny that there hasn?t been some, let?s say, hyperbolic critiques of conservative members here (particularly Andy as of late), but it?s important to remember that these comments are made after Andy has been extensively fact-checked and instead of rebutting these takedowns of his comments, he simply pivots to another erroneous conservative talking point. Regardless, you shouldn?t have to fear a conservative viewpoint as long as you can actually back up your line of thinking with evidence that you actually believe what you are talking about. And I truly feel that, while I think you?re off base on some of your questions, you are clearly raising valid points rather than regurgitating the ?Conservative Talking Point du Jour.? Democrats, at least the ones I know, do understand the binder comment. See, it?s great that Romney sought to include qualified women in his cabinet. It?s not so great that he lumped women, presumably of different backgrounds in areas of expertise into a catalogue of sorts, as it makes it sound like he?s trying to fulfill a quota. It?s worse that it was actually given this ?binder? (actually a collection of resumes) by a Democratic group and has now chosen to bring it to the fore AND take credit for it when it just so happens that he continually polls terribly with women. I have to ask, at the risk of sounding combative, do you understand the 47% comment? To me, it?s irrelevant whether this means he doesn?t care about this group of people, or if he?s just shrugging them off because they will never support him. The bottom line is simple: A presidential nominee, behind closed doors, in front of the wealthiest of the wealthy, wrote off nearly half the country as overly dependent martyrs. How can we believe that he will work for the middle-class when he spends his private time allaying the wealthiest Americans? concerns about how the poor may directly or indirectly threaten their fortune? Of course the Democrats don?t believe that Romney would fire Big Bird. But the Obama Big Bird ads are designed to counterpunch Romney?s buzz-worthiest debate line and illustrate his out of touch views. Sesame Street airs on the Public Broadcasting System, and Romney (and Republicans) have long claimed that we shouldn?t be funding programming that promotes educational and informative programming (they claim liberal bias; is there some correlation here?). Romney said he loved Big Bird but couldn?t defend borrowing money to pay for him (Big Bird is a sub for PBS here). But PBS makes up a tiny fraction of the budget. When Romney criticizes Wall Street regulation yet makes a point to claim he?ll cut PBS? funding, it brings up questions about his priorities. I think every American, whether he or she realizes it or not, has invested in Chinese companies. That?s how pervasive Chinese imports are in this country. The problem with Romney is that he?s criticizing Obama for being too soft on China, yet he?s not only pledged to institute policies that would aid companies in the outsourcing of manufacturing of jobs to China (via tax credits), but he actually made a considerable fortune at Bain in part by shipping American jobs to China. To me, his investment in China isn?t nearly egregious as his flagrantly erroneous denials of such actions. Once again, with wealth, you are circling the issue but aren?t honing in on it. No one is opposed to wealth; there?s never been a poor president, and there?s nothing wrong with being wealthy. There is something wrong with been extremely wealthy, yet paying a lower tax rate than average Americans, which, thanks to the inability to tax income made off investments and other deductions and loopholes, Romney does, as he only paid 14.1% in federal income taxes last year, lower than the estimated average tax rate of 14.8%. There?s nothing wrong with Obama?s wealth just as there was nothing wrong with John Kerry?s wealth; both men don?t disown their success, but instead show a willingness to pay a higher tax rate. Their plan is simple: Tax the rich, including themselves, more; tax lower and middle classes less. That?s the Democratic plan for economic growth. Republicans advocate the ?trickle-down? theory, which, I think insanely, promotes ?growth? by putting more money in the hands of the wealthy in order for them to create jobs. Economic data and analysis has proven this economic theory as an ineffective scam, yet Republicans keep selling it, and they do so by convincing lower class folks that they are actually in the middle class and convincing the middle class into thinking that Democrats are trying to ?redistribute wealth? and that all that?s keeping the average American from amassing enormous wealth is the supposed socialist policies of the Democratic Party. These aren?t the most important issues facing the country, unfortunately, our country, on both sides of the aisle, is systematically broken thanks to our reliance on the 24-hour news media, which has to create controversy whether it exists or not. That?s definitely an issue. The problem is, when Romney is pressed on the specifics of his plans, he doesn?t elaborate. He?s great at identifying problems and speaking at length about him, but his solutions are always vague. He?ll put America back to work, he just won?t say how. His policies will raise wages, he just doesn?t say how. This goes on and on, and it flows down to his supporters. Just look at numerous recent discussions with, and I hate to single him out, but God love him if he hasn?t really become the lone conservative voice on this board, Andy. He?ll make proclamations, we?ll rebut and attempt to engage him with direct questions on his views, and he?ll either outright ignore them or simply make a post on another topic entirely. There?s no accountability for the lack of ownership of the conservative viewpoint, and it?s frustrating to be lectured on not being civil in these discussions when conservatives don?t even have the decency to respond directly to your questions and rebuttals. If you were concerned about jobs and voter suppression, you would most definitely vote Obama. Simply look at the Democratic track record: Over the past 52 years, Republicans have held the White House for 28 years and Democrats for 24. There have been 66 million private-sector jobs created, and, as Bill Clinton pointed out in his DNC speech, Democrats account for 42 million and Republicans just 24 million. Mitt Romney is advocating traditionally Republican economic positions while Obama advocates Democratic principles. How is this not a slam-dunk win for the president on this issue? As for voter suppression, it?s been the Republicans who?ve cried foul over their inability to tamp down early voting. For example, a lower court struck down a Republican-passed law in Ohio to restrict early voting, and there was palpable anger among Republicans when the Supreme Court declined to step in and reinstate their law. Statistics show that early voting favors the Democratic Party. These are all eligible voters, why should they be discouraged to exercise their constitutional voting right? When I attended Indiana University, there were shuttles to take us to early voting sites in 2008; when Republicans took control of the city council in 2009, one of their first actions was to eliminate the early voting shuttles, making it difficult for many students without automobiles to vote. Again, why should voting be made more difficult, and why are Republicans so keen to shut out people that just so happen to align themselves with the Democratic Party? I hope this was helpful, and I hope that even if you don?t agree, you at least have a better understanding of our exasperation with conservatives, not just on this board, but those in pursuit of national office.

People without a conscience can't be embarrassed. And it makes a bold statement that Mitt Romney's supporters also lack the character to acknowledge the glaring truth that Mitt Romney will SAY WHATEVER IT TAKES to close the deal. This isn't a sales pitch, Willard -- this is running the country. Look at Romney's poll-numbers in home-state of Massachusetts. They hate him.

There's a difference between covering up incompetence and waiting until all the facts are organized and understood. I still fail to see how abstaining from a knee-jerk reaction to this tragedy is being considered a mistake on the part of the president. Also, even Elaine Benes thinks you use way too many exclamation points.
