There are third parties?! lol
-
chrisstevens:
It is often said that the Republicans are the party for liberty, lower taxes and smaller state. These base ideals appeal to me, however I also feel that MANY within that party do not stand for individual freedoms and choice (Unlike Ron Paul, for example. I could vote for him, right up my avenue mostly). What do you think?
This is pretty much where I'm at in my beliefs.
mustangsally10:
In the US third parties are just a way to throw away your vote.
Or a way to have a clean conscience.

Brilliant, AbbeyRoadCrosser. Totally correct on the last comment. So, I take it you may vote for Gary Johnson?

If I could, just a year under the age requirement .

Baaah, there is always 2016 though. Vote Libertarian Party!

I watched Gary Johnson on CNN(?) yesterday. If Republicans were more like him...

NY Daily News - no longer singin' the blues They've gone Red & nominated Romney How cool is that : And they've "ticked off" a number of reasons why ... Which, I'm sure will "tick off" a few in this forum ... .... ..... "So The News is compelled to stand with Romney." http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/choice-america-future-mitt-romney-article-1.1196299

This is all you've got at this stage of the game, Andy, so we'll let you have this one.

I am glad I voted a democratic ticket. I have run into some almost fascist posts on my facebook page supporting Romney including one photo of someone holding a can of raid and pointing down stating theres a democrat. That was enough to get me trying to find different ways to have this poster who put that off my friend list. yet I am having a problem removing her. That kind of thing got me completly put off romney. I would rather not see they came for the democrats first type of scenarios that is more favoring a nazi approach and no thanks love doris

If questionable character, race-baiting and tax-dodging don't bother them, then -- yes -- Romney's their guy.

To all Americans: Now is your chance to do something that billions of people around the world will never get to do. A great many people have sacrificed for your right to take a few minutes out of your day and choose a person whose decisions could affect the entire world. Most of us will never vote for someone with so much influence. Some say their vote will not make a difference. Ask Al Gore if that is true. Some say there is little difference between the two candidates. Then vote for someone else. The two parties are only in control because you give them that control. I don't care who you vote for, just vote.

mustangsally10:
It's safe to assume that since Obama's greatest obstacle to climate change action has been the republicans that eliminating as many republicans as possible would be best way to promote climate change action. I see that your country is a major exporter of crude to the US. So perhaps any move to a clean energy future in US and other major industrial countries is a threat to Kuwait.
Perhaps, but even when Democrats control the White House and congress, very little is done. It is simply not a priority for either party. Americans for whom the environment is a priority should vote for the Green party. My country exports more oil to Japan than the United States, and Japan is a world leader in clean energy. The US gets most of its oil from Canada. Moving away from oil will not be catastrophic to my nation because we invest heavily in education and technology. We know our oil is finite.

I made the observation that Romney is a sociopath months ago. The shameless, sometimes same-day flip-flops, combined with his attacking the gay kid in high school and cutting his hair, plus Romney causing his blind teacher to walk into a door, I am convinced that Mitt Romney is incapable of feeling guilt.
I would doubt that he is a sociopath. The person who said pregnancy from rape is a gift from God is probably a sociopath. "Flip flopping" occurs throughout the political spectrum. Hillary Clinton was accused of it more than a few times during the 2008 campaign. She is no sociopath. I have not heard about Romney attacking people at schools. When was this? I would imagine this type of activity during a campaign would have gained attention.
