Your "conversion playlist"

Mr. Spock:
Anyway, I thought it would be interesting if we used this thread to do just that. In essence, if you had to pick about 12-14 songs from all of Paul's post-Beatles career that could make the case for why he is extremely relevant (both historically and currently) as an artist, which songs would you choose? Think of your list as more of a playlist than another "greatest hits/fan favorites" album. I recommend choosing songs that are high in quality (i.e. hidden album gems) than the outright famous ones, but its totally up to you.
From the opening post. Nothing wrong in chosing Jet. Without chosing some of the greatest hits or some of the fan favorits it can be difficult to find songs that fit the "extremely relevant" theme.

I was also going to say, how can anyone not like Jet? thats like seriosuly Paul's best song ever, can;t believe you skip it on BOTR! I agree its played out, but there's a reason for that. It's def one of Wings best songs.
Luckily tastes vary. For me "Jet" is nowhere near being Paul's best song ever.

I love this thread. And I wish I had people who were interested in hearing more of Paul's solo work! At a quick glance, a lot of mine are repeats of ones listed... But here goes! 1. Oo You 2. This One 3. Wanderlust 4. Back Seat of my Car 5. Oh Woman, Oh Why 6. Mamunia 7. Riding to Vanity Fair 8. Jenny Wren 9. Sun is Shining 10. Your Way 11. Hi Hi HI 12. With a Little Luck 13. Venus & Mars/Rockshow 14. Every Night Bonus Track (it's my list and I can have a bonus track if I want it) : Maybe I'm Amazed (Wings Over America version)

Well, what I meant to say is that I preferred that there would be a focus on Paul's more obscure songs than his commercial ones, that way people don't think the only good songs he did after the Beatles were Maybe I'm Amazed and Band On The Run... But then again, I also said that you could go ahead and include his more famous songs if you really wanted to. I just wanted this to be more insightful to the average "layman" than simply buying a "Greatest Hits" album. Ultimately, I would like to give you guys a lot of freedom in selection so long as the song limit is intact. If you like, you could look at this more generally as "what 12-14 songs do you think would best make the case for Paul's post-Beatles career being noteworthy in itself among the other musicians of the world..." Hope this helps. By the way, great lists so far!

If I was to introduce Paul to someone unfamiliar with his solo work, I would begin here: The Lovely Linda That Would Be Something Valentine Day Every Night Hot as Sun/Glasses Junk Man We Was Lonely Oo You Momma Miss America Teddy Boy Singalong Junk Maybe I'm Amazed Kreen-Akrore
I have to say this is a great list... Since Mr. Spock has clarified that it should be more obscure songs, I decided to redo the list taking out the most popular ones. I still want to add more than 14!! Calico Skies Beautiful Night Ecce Cor Meum 1985 Venus Mars/Rock Show Maybe I'm Amazed Dance Til We're High Our Hearts No More Lonely Nights Hold Me Tight/Lazy Dynamite?Hands of Love/Power Cut Love in Song Tomorrow Letting Go Winter Rose/Love Awake

What about the conversion of Paul fans to his classical music? Here's my playlist My Love (Working Classical) Save The Child (Liverpool Oratorio) The Crypt (Liverpool Oratorio) School (Liverpool Oratorio) Gratia (Ecce Cor Meum) Human Theme (Standing Stone) Celebration (Standing Stone) Yesterday (Concert from NYC) Warm and Beatiful Eleanor Rigby/Eleanor's Dream (Give My Regards)

It's probably the best chorus Paul has ever written . Paul is not a "chorus" composer, yet he is seen as kind of comercial. His songs are not very catchy really... I remember sort of my conversion and some of my friends' conversions to the Beatles... And after the first listen it was all about Paperback Writer's riff. So, maybe for real conversion purpose it will be to select the catchiest stuff... something like Hi hi hi Jet Say say say Hope of deliverance Dance tonight Sing the changes Off the ground Freedom Smile Away etc

Isn't that just the McCartney album? yes yes, I think it is! You're a big fan, huh? Can't blame you. Infact, that album would not make a bad intro into the world of Paul.
