just read D-Day by anthony beavor , yes i know i have about 5 or more on the landings but his stalingrad book was so good and easy to read. i would recommend this again to anyone. the battle of hurtgen forest - charles whiting excellent and the first book i have ever read ( or recollect) that mentions bronchitis and pnuemonia as battle casualties, and it expect on battle worthiness of a regiment. Anzio by Lloyd clark another easy read blasts all the allied generals but especially mark clark. Just started 1914 by lynn macdonald to follow it with the somme and either 1915 or letters from the front, picked up 3 for £6.

A Wacko biog. I didn't realise till I was well into it that it'd be intersting for the Paul aspects. It breifly mentioned they'd worked togetherr and then only in passing while explaining Wacko came up with the song Muscles on the flight back. I've not got to the song buying bit yet.
