His time devoted to keeping almost all of his songs off of YouTube.
Man, you are SOOOO right! And it's so counter productive, I just don't get it. The guy has so many great songs that people would probably want to downoad/purchase if they ever heard them...
I think what might've contributed to his obsessive control is that he is still scarred from all the hassle he went through with Warner Bros. Still, the man who wrote "Slave" on his face is capable of enslaving others: All of the original members of The Time re-formed recently and opted to tour under a different name -- because they just didn't have the mental energy to negotiate with Prince -- who owns the band's name. Paul McCartney is extremely lenient when it comes to share-sites, and it seems to be working for him: -Free promotion -He still sells out stadiums and arenas -His pop/rock albums still sell Gold/Platinum

Prince was once one of the most uncommercial, daring music artists in music! Who else would have the balls to release albums like ATWIAD, Parade, Sign 'O' The Times, Lovesexy (with the naked cover) in the 1985-1988 period after Purple Rain when casual fans were dropping off like flies with every album? Let's forget that he even thought of releasing the Black Album in 1988 with a song like "Bob George". (If you know this song you'll know how what I mean!) It's hard to believe he managed to stay such a big name, up there with Michael Jackson and Madonna, but I guess that's a testament to the music. That's why it's a shame when his albums since Musicology have been quite safe, and commercial IMO. (Not to mention the music is nowhere near his old standards.)

He converted to Jehova's Witness several years ago, so no more of the raunchy, daring stuff.

Here's an imaginary concert setlist I made ages ago: Prince at Madison Square Garden, New York, NY, USA: 2014 W/special guest Let's Go Crazy 1999 Little Red Corvette Controversy She's Always In My Hair Colonized Mind The Question Of U The Beautiful Ones Computer Blue Pop Life Cream Alphabet St. Baby I?m A Star Girls & Boys Mountains The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker If I Was Your Girlfriend Sign 'O' The Times Pop Life Gold Money Don't Matter 2 Night Kiss Black Sweat Adore When Doves Cry Encore 1 Purple Rain Encore 2 (With special guest Sir Paul McCartney) Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/Raspberry Beret Day Tripper I Saw Her Standing There Come Together Now how great would that concert be?

The idea of Macca joining Prince onstage would be beyond awesome, but I think there are better song choices that would suit a Prince crowd than what's on your list.

Prince w/ The Family Stone - Everyday People (live NYE 1999):

It's unfortunate that it took the passing of George Harrison for a lot of non-Prince fans to wake up and realize how gifted Prince is:

Okay i've only just seen this recently but this is great! This is from when Prince was still the artist formerly known as back in 1997 guest starring with The Muppet's! He appears in some funny sketches, sings Starfish and Coffee, She gave her angels and a few others and their are references to his career including the 'assless' pants/trousers from the Gett Off MTV performance and his name at the time being a symbol! Muppets Tonight, Season 2, Episode 1, 1997. Guest starring The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Part One-
Part Two- Part Three-this was a fun one thanx for posting it but i couldnt see part 2 due to This video contains content from UMPG Publishing, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
