Salvador looks like a great candidate for a McCartney concert. Also would be someplace new. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador,_Bahia
Yes, it's a large city in a very sunny area of the country. Lots of nice beaches, and hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of tourists go there every year for Carnaval, which nowadays is as big as in Rio de Janeiro. Basically, the party goes on all year long over there.
If it happens there I'll stay for a week to enjoy the beaches! Are there any proper stadiums in Salvador, Carlos?
Here are pics of new stadium readying completion. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=973400&page=10

Looks like the excitement goes far beyond South America! By the way, I have just read that a possible concert in Belo Horizonte cannot happen after May 25, due to other commitments between the stadium and FIFA: http://divirta-se.uai.com.br/app/noticia/musica/2013/01/30/noticia_musica,140005/show-de-paul-mccartney-no-mineirao-esta-perto-de-se-confirmar-afirma-fonte-ligada-a-minas-arena.shtml

Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador is reported to open on Mar. 29, to coincide with city's anniversary. http://g1.globo.com/jornal-nacional/noticia/2013/01/valcke-faz-ultima-visita-arena-fonte-nova-antes-da-entrega-do-estadio.html

Nice, it seems you can read Portuguese very well. It also seems that you really want to go to that concert, if it comes true!
-
It would be good if the web site would giveaway a pair of tickets for each concert through a raffle to members of the forum (considering they have more than 1000 posts and can actually attend).

Actually I'm better at Spanish (my name in Spanish class was Carlos ). I would love to attend but will probably just do so vicariously. How about you?

I think the threshhold should be 2,000 posts.

No way, I'm 800+ posts short!

And now there is talk of concerts in Brazil in May, after the one in Argentina.
Is that all the South American press does, report on McCartney concert rumours? They seem to be endless, and a press priority. Good luck with it though, I hope for you it comes off.
Well, Paul performed in South America in 2010, 2011 and 2012. So why not 2013?
I can think of a few places Paul didn't perform in 2010, 2011 and 2012 that would love to have him.

But the question remains... would those places be able to sell out 60.000 outrageously overpriced tickets per show as in South America?

Are the prices on par with Europe and the USA?

The never ending pattern of touring is! :

It's cheaper in the US and in Europe when you consider shows usually take places in smaller venues and decent seats are really expensive here.

How much for first few rows for the show? How much for first few rows & soundcheck by you?

In Brazil it was US$1600 for soundcheck and no seats, standing room only! So you pay that amount and see the main show with a guy's elbows stabbing your back In here it was 6000 pesos but I don't remember how much was that in US$ then.

See? It's cheaper in the US. But you get to see the concert with people "rattling their jewelry" instead of demented South American fans.
