Hey, I love Star Trek as much as anyone but anyone who thinks funerals were invented on Star Trek and then picked up by the wider populace, REALLY needs to turn the TV off and go outside for a few minutes.

"Funeral?" I don't know how I missed that.

Yes, of course, giving money to the corporations is not communism... cause corporations... that's it... they're not people... it's Corpocommunism or so.... well... Some call it Paternalistic Capitalism (paternalistic over corporations).
In the United States, corporations are people.
I forgot it again....

Well, we're still in 2013. We're not prepared for that yet, or so they would say in Star Trek. Are you sure we're prepared for what we already have, like tablets, and computer comunication everywhere... If we kind of abuse that, think of what we will do with replicators.

Republicans still don't get it. Instead of setting a common-sense agenda with policies that appeal to the masses, they opt to find new ways to cheat: I'm already smelling a 2016 victory for Hillary...or Joe. GOP eyes new election laws: "BOSTON (AP) ? After back-to-back presidential losses, Republicans in key states want to change the rules to make it easier for them to win. From Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, GOP officials who control legislatures in states that supported President Barack Obama are considering changing state laws that give the winner of a state's popular vote all of its Electoral College votes, too. Instead, these officials want Electoral College votes to be divided proportionally, a move that could transform the way the country elects its president. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus endorsed the idea this week, and other Republican leaders support it, too, suggesting that the effort may be gaining momentum. There are other signs that Republican state legislators, governors and veteran political strategists are seriously considering making the shift as the GOP looks to rebound from presidential candidate Mitt Romney's Electoral College shellacking and the demographic changes that threaten the party's long-term political prospects. "It's something that a lot of states that have been consistently blue that are fully controlled red ought to be looking at," Priebus told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, emphasizing that each state must decide for itself. Democrats are outraged at the potential change...." http://news.yahoo.com/gop-eyes-election-laws-091622720--election.html

Obama to Turn Campaign Machinery to Promoting Policy: "... Obama for America, the organization that mobilized the president?s army of supporters during his two races for the White House, now has a new name: Organizing for Action. The aim of the group, which will be overseen by a small inner circle of former campaign advisers, will be to promote Mr. Obama?s policies and to give Democratic activists and other allies a way to rally behind his agenda. The group?s chairman will be Jim Messina, the president?s campaign manager in 2012. He said Friday that the grass-roots effort would start by tackling gun control, immigration and climate change and would operate under the same financing rules as the president?s inauguration committee, which accepts corporate contributions. ..." http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/19/us/politics/obamas-campaign-machinery-turns-to-promoting-policy.html?_r=0

Congratulations President Obama. The second term is always the hardest.

I think replicators would be very dangerous in human hands, but I would appreciate the technology.

There's already way too much techno in human hands, it's spoiling communication, for a start. I'm starting to think Elton John was right when he said the internet should be closed for a long time.

I'm liking Biden more than ever these days. For starters, he really turned things around after President Obama's passive, first-debate performance...but, besides that, he's qualified for the job and he's on the right side of many issues. I'd be lying, though, if I said that his being 74-years-old in 2016 wasn't a concern, but Reagan was 74 during the start of his second term.

Poll: Hillary Clinton Popular With 67% Of Americans: "/24/2013 11:07 AM ET Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a decided advantage over potential rivals for the White House in 2016. The former first lady is viewed favorably by two-thirds of Americans, according to a new poll from ABC News and the Washington Post. "Sixty-seven percent of Americans see her favorably overall, numerically a new high in her long career in the public spotlight, and essentially unchanged in recent months," the pollsters said. If she decides to run, Clinton's top challenge might come from Vice President Joe Biden. However, Biden is seen favorably by only 48 percent of Americans versus 37 percent who take a dim view of the vice president. ..." http://www.rttnews.com/2042956/poll-hillary-clinton-popular-with-67-of-americans.aspx?type=glpn
