Setlist-overhaul or not, if Paul does the 'Roo, I'm there! It'll be hot, though. I hope that Paul would dress appropriately, something cool and comfortable.

I understand. Paul should go to the places he hasn't in years. There are whole continents dying to see him and haven't in decades. This is why he should really go to these places and make up to Denmark before he considers going to the same places again. There are people on here like you who haven't seen Paul in too long, and others who have seen Paul 12 times within 2 years! There's too much of the world and not enough of Paul to go around.
I think what people do not understand is that Paul does not pick the places he plays, the promoters and the markets decide that. He cancelled some Australian dates in '03 or '04 and he never went back. If the market is soft or soft for him he may not play there even if he wants to. Touring is complicated. Deals have to be made for every city and venue. Horsens may not want him or be able to afford him. It's simple economics and his concerts are a huge and complex deal. It's not just him and a guitar showing up. It's him and 200 other people in a gigantic expense of planes and trucks and cars and hotels, etc, and it takes months to put these tours together. McCartney on Tour is a business, not just a person. Perspective.
I believe Paul cancelled Australia because of tension in Asia area ie bombings ( memory's fuzzy not too sure on this one) and /or the nail in our Aussie coffin was the GFC the almighty dollar just didnt stretch this far. It was nothing to do with interest , crowd numbers (or lack of them!!!) Come On Paul Back to Australia Pleeeease! you haven't been here since '92 ! ( and remember Brisbane too this time!)
Hi, sorry to inform you this, but Paul did cancel the "Driving OZ" tour in 2002 due to poor ticket sales (sadly), but his PUBLIC excuse was other, same with the last year cancelled dates in Denmark was?.. the 2002 info came directly to me at the time I was working for EMI/MPL during his visit in my country. And I belive that if you don't see the Denmark shows in 2013 but others in Europe, it means the same reason (poor ticket sales). Paul is playing ONLY in places where people pays, somebody wrote that he didn't pick the dates, that's correct, promotor does, first rule: money to Pay Paul, and promotors check if they can sell as many tickets, etc. In Europe, people don't pay as high as in America (just check the prices of the VIP packages here and there, around 1,000 USD in Europe or less, and up to 2,000 usd here, etc), that's why Paul and his promoter (Marshall Arts) preffers to stay in the same cities and countries. It's not strange that Paul is going to play Latin America for FOURTH year in a row, people over here still wants to see him, pay for high ticket price, selling out his STADIUM (Not small arenas) shows within HOURS. Paul is happy to play with warm crowds, yes, that's correct, but also, he's playing for people who still want to see him paying high prices. I hope that Japan and Australia will get more dates, rumor since last year is that he's thinking on a Japan tour as well. (he's own words during a Japan tv interview around Feb 2012) Now it's all mostly Marketing and money, that's the record industry and that's the concert industry (sadly)

I agree with Miguel's post above 100%. By the way, I just heard from a good source that travel agencies here in Argentina will be being offered special packages to sell trips to La Plata including a ticket to see Paul there on April 17.

Yeah, I'm also mostly worried about how he will dress on this new tour!

It looks like Paul is heading to Poland on June 7th!
I'm actually pretty excited about that. My mother's side of the family is all Polish, and even if I can't be there in person, I'll be there in spirit! I can't wait for the videos to start cropping up of Paul trying to speak Polish. "Dzien dobry, Poland! Jak sie masz? I'm dobzre, man!"

Nothing on Cordoba or a second show in La Plata yet. Wallie, I have a Polish passport, maybe I should go to the show then?
-
I really, really hope these Polish dates will come true. June is more than plausible for Europe, but there's not a sign of other European cities so far, and like said on the previous page the newspapers from Poland have a recent history of jumping the gun on McCartney touring news...

Why can't I do both?

In the main, McCartney has primarily toured the USA when he has toured since 1976. All of a sudden, South America is getting touring attention and it bothers some folks. What gives? I suppose people would have complained about Paul always playing the USA had there been an internet decades ago. It has even happened here. But so far, it looks like Europe and South America may get some shows in 2013. That's cool. I think Paul is giving the USA market a rest. Which is smart. If he doesn't, ticket sales will be soft, then he may just go off performing for good.

There are rumours over here of concerts on April 19 or 23 (Belo Horizonte) and April 27 (Fortaleza). Another rumour (this one seems unlikely to me) is on April 21 (Brasília). I guess the pieces of the puzzle are coming together.

You might are forgetting one big gig... But I do think it's not that kind of a stretch to believe that one is exclusive for at least the summer.

You seem to be more than just cautiously optimistic about Bonnaroo '13. We'll know this time tomorrow -- hope you're right!

I'm willing to bet my Silly Love Songs quest on Bonnaroo happening...if Bonnaroo doesn't come through I'll never mention it again! Edit: Thanks to Audi for very subtly pointing out my spelling error!

I wonder if those folks complained from 1962 to 1993 because during that time Paul never performed in Argentina. If he's making up for that now then so what?
