What do you think? I think they're ok... Harry says he admires Paul so, hey, I can't hate him.
-
defently NOT my cup of tea but my neice really likes them for some starnge reason maybe its a faze i dont know
-
I've heard of them, but I don't recall any of their songs by name. Based on this concert footage, I have not been missing much. (cue to auto-tuner microphone, please...)
-
More manufactured pap that seems to be the norm nowadays, will we remember them in 5 years time?i think its doubtful
-
I no i shouldnt like them but can not help it lol

Why shouldn't you like them? If it's good pop music, it's good pop music. It's not set out to change the world. Designed to make you happy and maybe sing along......if you do that, well, mission accomplished. Just like The Osmonds, Bay City Rollers, Spandau Ballet, etc. Lots of records sold and a couple of tunes that "stand the test of time".
-
I do sing along lol i think its because they are a little younger than me lol
-
My wish is for you to go back in time to before you decided to make this thread and decide NOT to make this thread.
-
They are terribly, some of the songs they sing are good pop tunes but their success eclipses their 'talent' and is all down to perfect timing and a great group of people promoting them!

Now I sort of regret publishing the thread

they sure got a lucky break, but I prefer raw talent tbh

Another manufactured boy band. Load of crap. Nothing remarkable really, except their bulging wallets. That would be cool. For what it's worth, the only decent boyband were East 17. Now, they had some generally good songs.
-
The young kids enjoy them.....they are better than alot of the other artists trying to perform these days. They are doing what they were put together to do.....no reason to hate that. You go boys!!

And what's sadder is that these boy-groups are virtual "property" of some corporate weasel who cares nothing about them as individuals -- these schmucks' motives are all about skimming the guys' money and controlling their lives.

In the case of One Direction, would that be Simon?

I was speaking in general terms, but I wouldn't be shocked if they were locked into a horrible contract with some mogul.

Probably....I was just wondering if they were making Simon even richer than he already is. I know he put them together.

Indeed. Wouldn't be surprised if they split in 5 years (that's about the usual time isn't it?) and a few years after that you hear stories that a few members where bankrupt as a result of dodgy contracts they were un aware of.

Why doesn't the music industry require talent anymore?
