Must Do Something About It (Paul Vocal)
-
I was listening to Speed of Sound yesterday and wondered what Must Do Something About It would've sounded like had Paul sung it instead. Had a look around earlier and found it on youtube. I don't post here often so I imagine it's been posted before and I'm the last to have heard it, in case anyone here hasn't heard it - here it is. I've always loved this song and I'm glad that I now know 2 versions and I love them both.
-
Of course I love this song & was listening to it yesterday~ swear!!! trip I wondered how Paul would sound singing it.. & here you make this post... will check out the link now~ OK lemme rephrase that.. I'm in love with song~

wow! I like Joe's version better. For some reason; he seems to take the song more seriously ~ sounds like Paul's in rehearsals sorta~ Joes vocals are stronger.. & he seems to be enjoying the song more than Paul

oh wow i kinda like it and enjoyed but im used to hearing the real version i wonder why paul dicided not to sing it

So Joe would have something to sing like Ringo always did. By the time Wings At the Speed of Sound came out, Wings was a fully realized group, not just Paul McCartney and...anymore. So it was to give everyone a sing-a-song on the album.

As I sit here watching the sunset, I enjoyed that song.
-
Paul's is really a guide vocal, but I have no problem with Joe's handling of it. He had a sensational voice.

i thought the same thing is it like in their contract or something?

At first I love this song and joe sings it awesomely. If you compare the released version with this version joe sings it better. But paul's vocals were guide vocals so possibly he would have sung it better than joe had he sung it seriously. But I'm not sure. This song really suits to joe's voice and it was good that he sung at least one song with wings

Glad I wasn't the only one who hadn't heard it, pleased I shared it now

Not the same at all. Ringo has lots of charm but not all that much of a voice. Joe's a really good singer.

thanx for answering yeah ringo does have a voice any how ive had this version on my mind lately its very catchy,i can hear paul going aBOOuT iiiiiit : )

I think it's something Billy Joel-like with the song when Joe English sing it. Must have been McCartney's inner clock that said tick tock this is for Joe to make the most of.
-
It's easy to dismiss it as a guide vocal, but his guide vocal for Come and Get It was pretty good.

Cool! I've never heard this before, thanks for posting it!
