Predict Next Setlist

5th-beatle:
How about adding to the setlist those songs that were recently performed live on special occasions? Goodnight Tonight Twist And Shout Money
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE "Goodnight Tonight"!!! But covers, of Beatles' covers? I'm not crazy about either of the other two. He didn't even sing lead on them back in the day. And "Twist and Shout" is just the raw signature Lennon vocal...no way.

I agree here. Macca has such a huge catalog of his own songs he never performed live I don't see a point of adding something like "Money" or "Twist & Shout". If it's Beatles tunes we're talking about, he could replace "The Night Before" with "Another Girl" and "Lady Madonna" with "Martha My Dear" or "Honey Pie".

Too many sound effects and "acting" parts in it, and Linda's voice would be missed.
Sound effects? Do you mean the thunder and rain? Wix can easily do that. Abe could do those silly vocal parts as well. They don't even sound like Linda, they sound like a silly voice, we just know it as Linda. It wasn't her "singing" voice really...ya know? I think it would be SUPERB.
Well, good luck to you. I don't see it happening.

I'd rather hear "Back seat of my car" a million times before "Uncle Albert".
I'd love to hear both, actually, as they're both favorites of mine, and I think they'd both go over well live.

Well, yes. Being that I've already heard him doing "Let me roll it" 8 times, I'd take any of the two in its place.

Hey now, watch it on "Let Me Roll It"....fan favorite right here!

See I think it is funny how everyone always wants less Beatles music, usually the younger ones, but don't take away one I like right! Well that is true with all the songs and including The Beatles for some so he is never gonna make people happy...I really like LMRI but it is tired now isn't it? I mean if Hey Jude is old then so is LMRI.
-
NothI mean I can understand both sides but I also always remember what Paul said and that was what do I want to hear if I have never seen McCartney before and then of course there would be a lot of good Beatles songs.

ehh..I'm not a younger one by any means & I'd rather have him doing more of his Wings & solo material.
-
even if you knew about the Beatles and had never seen him?? When I say younger I mean younger than I at 53.

It's very possible that Paul has listened to what his band have suggested to try next (e.g. Backseat), they've given it a bash and it's just simply not worked out. We won't know what happens behind those secret doors in rehearsal. It was like when he came out randomly with The Word. None of us would have expected it and might not have been at the top of the list, but it just happened to work for him in rehearsal. If he won't do Lovely Rita... then what about something more surprising like A Taste of Honey, Hold Me Tight or All Together Now. As much as I'd prefer to hear a non-Beatles surprise, I think we're more likely to get a Beatle one.
-
yep...but we have had these 'oldie act' discussions before. I'd love for him to update the show quite a bit. I know there are standards that must be played...but there are soo many songs to be heard...live. before it's too late. and you are prolly right frankie

I know, Wixiboy. But removing a song he performed on the last 2000 concerts and replacing it with one he never did live before can't be bad, can it??
-
I too would really prefer a refreshed set list but I would still have 70 percent Beatles..Not that I do not like the Wings, I really do but as far as his Solo stuff I would not have a totally Wings and Solo especially not Solo. But hey any McCartney music is good.

If they've waited only a week before the US/Canada shows for rehearsal I imagine they're only going to do a couple of 'minty freshies' at the most. Do we honestly think here that this so-called minty fresh show plan thing is actually going to happen when Paul releases his upcoming album/s? Because I think it was just a hyped up excuse to cancel on Denmark. I imagine next year's tour will just be like the normal set, with some new album songs in it and, if we're lucky, one or two others. I guess that's at least a bit minty fresh.... but I doubt it'll be as minty fresh as we'd wish.

Could be a lot of hot air, think Paul will do similar to last yr and add a Come and Get it/The Word type of song and the rest will be the usual stale formula, then again he may prove us all wrong

I agree I hope we get a good shake up but not really expecting.

There's been a lot of buzz about it on here, maybe he'll get the message. -Your Mother Should Know? To promote Magical Mystery Tour Re-release.
