If the concert starts at 7 pm what time would the sound check be? If Sir Paul is on time of course. I'm curious as I am a smoker and now I'm hearing that I won't be allowed to leave and re-enter........... Maybe I should bring my electronic cigarette?

You will be sent instructions as to what time to report to the venue. In St. Louis, check-in was between 3 and 3:45 PM. Line, indoors, started before 3 PM.

I think that's the row, I don't know. The Amway does letters and not numbers. But it's such a small venue that there may be a different setup.
The seating chart on Ticketmaster now is interactive (you can choose exactly what seat you want), so now you can see how many seats there are in a row and how many rows there are in each section.
Hmmm good to know... I'll have to see if that's true for the Amway and Safeco Field. I already have an idea for the Amway since I've been there before and was honestly surprised it's a small one for a place like Orlando.

Thanks for the info. And as for my smoking guess I will cover the bases just in case I can't leave and re enter, a patch and an electronic cigarette......... :

I'm hoping that second Orlando show materialises because I am seriously considering doing Hot Sound if it does. I have no expenses of my own except for car insurance (and even that is every six months) and gas/groceries so for something like that, which I have dreamed of for ages... I might have to. I can pay off the ticket with overtime money like I am doing for the other ones this year.

Reason # 4,653 I'm glad I don't smoke! My big internal conversation with myself is "Do I dare have another beer? I don't want to have to take a potty break in the middle of the show!!!!!!!!!!

We usually have our own booth to buy things, but not in St Louis.
Not in Vancouver, either; and I am pretty sure that option was always listed with the other perks that come with the soundcheck packages. But after Vancouver, I checked, and it was not listed then, and it's not listed for this year's packages, either.

Not dissing smokers (my boyfriend is a heavy one so I can't anyway!) but I would agree with you!!

It's pretty much guaranteed you can't leave and re-enter. If you are going to an indoor venue, you will not be going outside. As for smoking, I am so happy that after over 60 years of smoking we got my mom to stop 3 years ago. For her the patch for a ten day hospital stay did the trick. Then she became anal about the smell and wanted it out of the house, which it now is.

Well that's okay, I don't want to miss anything anyway and a patch works great, just not quite the same though.

A big advantage of Paul's concerts in Europe regarding VIP packages is that they are much less expensive than in North & South America. That makes me wonder: do those VIP packages usually sell out in Europe, due to their lower prices?
-
aakiboh:
But, if you can't...I would recommend looking up the regular presale and gold package simultaneously when tickets go on sale. I've gotten better seats for $250 with the regular presale than they offer with the gold ticket. It all depends on the venue and which seats they decide to allocate for each.
If anyone does look at 2 different tickets simultaneously, make sure it's NOT two Ticketmaster webpages...you'll get an error if you try to load two sets of tickets at the same time. One paulmccartney.com (or crowdsurge) and one Ticketmaster page should be fine...just not two Ticketmaster pages!

I just looked at the VIP package website (Eventtravel.com) and the only package that is sold out is Front Row in Verona! (US$1015+fees...almost half the price of front row in the US!)

And you get to see Paul perform at a Roman amphitheatre that was built nearly 2,000 years ago!

... I bit the bullet and bought Hot Sound for Orlando's 2nd show. I had honestly considered it for the 18th but went Gold instead, thinking it was too much money. But when I considered the Amway is 15 miles from my home and my only "travel expenses" will be $25 to top off my gas tank... I said to heck with it. And I did it for the 2nd show. Because this is my hometown and I don't know how many more chances like this will come around for me. And I honestly couldn't be happier. I'm in the THIRD ROW.

I got the 3rd row for the fist show in Tulsa. Then, when they announced the 2nd show today, I bought a regular ticket for that one.

If that had happened in Memphis, my second show would have been regular price. I did Gold for Memphis. 7th row.
-
maccascruff. we are on the same row. Just a few seats down!

So, all you peeps who have been to one of these before, and I know you are out there!! what is the sound check package like? Were you happy with spending all that money on it??? do you sit way far away from them while they are doing it, or is it closer? were your seats good for the actual concert? how long does the sound check itself last??? any chance of meeting Paul?!!! do they do whole songs or just parts? you get a meal with it?? Please help me get an idea of what occurs!!! I called the box office, (Austin) they are NO HELP. thanks!!
