Rockshow in Theatres
-
Is anyone else having trouble pulling up the list of theaters? After I click on the "Cinemas" button, I've tried entering my city and state but I get a "no postal code" message. Then I've tried entering my zip code (4 digit and 8 digit versions) and I still get the "no postal code" message. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

It's not you. That button doesn't seem to be working today. I entered my city and got the same response but it has worked for me in the past.

Dinner & movie date w/ my better half tonight. So looking forward to seeing the remastered Rockshow. The first & last time I saw it was in 1980 at a theatre

Here's another link to find your local theater. http://www.specticast.com/rockshow.jsp

Going by myself to Southampton Cineworld. Closest cinema for me 31 miles away. Hope I'm not the only one!!!
Ditto (except Llandudno instead of Southampton)! Time to go now!

Thank you for that new link, oobu24! The film is showing in my city tomorrow!!

This happened to me too-if you click on the box that says "share location" that appears in the upper left hand corner, the theaters should appear on the screen.

Sound wad amazing ! A lot of the film was really sharp , but I thought many shots especially towards the end were still a bit grainy. Some of the original shots were a bit out of focus , so I suppose there's only so much you can do... Amazing set , although I never quite understood him finishing with "soily". I found it to be the least enjoyable track , and a bizarre anti climax . I forgot what that song was originally on... Overall , thouroughly enjoyed , but missed part of Paul's newly recorded introduction Anybody care to tell me what he talked about before he talked about jimmy McCullough, and Joe English ? ( what a shift that drummer did btw ! )

Sound was incredible, wasn't it!? I never quite got Soily until recently but man it ROCKED!! I found the out of focus shots quaint, added to the 70s flavour! He was basically talking about the fun they had doing the tour, how it was great for Wings to hit it big in America since that's seen as the pinnacle after some struggles in the early years. Said how great it was having Linda up there, how he got a lot of stick for it but by that stage she new her parts really well. Obviously talked about how having Linda in was like how they started as novices in The Beatles. He also talked about how great it was having a horn section, and mentioned the evolving crowd reaction as songs became hits, using Silly Love Songs as an example. Said once it became a hit the crowd started to really dig it. He also said Silly Love Songs was a great song...which made me happy

What did he say about Denny Laine and about Jimmy McCullough? Just curious.

He didn't really say a lot about them just that it is great to sit and watch them because he never got the chance to see them play from their perspective. Said Jimmy was a great guitar player...which he sure was!

Didn't mention Denny by name i don't think in his intro, but wow i'm so glad i went to see this on teh big screen! Having had it on video since 89 i nearly didn't go (thinking of saving the tenner!), but it's worth it - it looked and sounded soooooooooo good
-
In Southampton we didn't get the introduction?? And I was there 10 minutes before it started? Anyway amazing sound, whole show really rocked. Only one song I had any doubts over, Soily, (hate the intro) but it really rocked at the end. Great show..
-
Thought it slightly strange that he name checked everyone in the band except Denny in his intro. But it was fantastic to see this on the big screen. The power of Joe English's drumming was astonishing. I absolutely love Soily and the sheer balls of finishing with an unreleased song.
-
Absolutely outstanding, it looked so much clearer and brighter than the version I've had on video all these years. You can see everything so much clearer. The only slightly dissapointing thing for me was how the bands backing vocals and harmonies seem rather distant/buried in the mix. Didn't spoil the over all enjoyment though. Great to see Linda having a ball on stage. And Soily is my absolute fav performance, so they couldn't have ended on more of a high. The screening wasn't very well publicised and as I expected the turn-out was low, with around 25-30 attending, and no 'kids'. Can't wait for the DVD!
