Prices are HIGHER on this tour...

I suppose I should also note people watching the tour on youtube are not at the concerts either.

If you're at the concert, then you're AT the "real" concert.... case friggin' closed. And why bring up YouTube? I don't get you at all. What kind of point were you trying to make? And PS - I certainly feel a heck of a lot more "part of the show", in really good lower levels, than I do past... let's say.. the first 10 rows (or the GA distance equivalent) to the stage. You know, I have this really strange thing... when I'm at the show... I like to be able to SEE IT! Not stuck behind a sea of tall heads, people waving signs, and iPhones.... And PPS.... My last PM show in 2010, where I had my best overall seats... 4th row dead center on the field.... was the LAMEST section I've ever been in for a PM show. I was surrounded by a bunch of rich stiffs who made me sit down for Band On The Run, for instance.... Not all audiences are the same.

No they aren't. And they also have $250 - $1500 in their pockets!

That's none of your forking business. Let's just say they have it.

Why are you attacking RMartinez? He watches the shows on YouTube. The economy isn't great, so we're lucky we have YouTube to watch when we are not able to afford the shows. Dude, you need to chill. Obviously everybody here isn't up to your fan level and you're just the greatest fan and superior to all the rest. Chill.

What in the world does that have to do with anything to do with this thread or Paul McCartney? As has been asked by several members, can we please get back to topic and stop with the nonsensical questions?

And also some fans don't have the luxury of having Paul tour in their home city or even home state. For them, their options are youtube.com or nothing. No need to be elitist (not you, King Macca!).

The VENUE sets the prices. The Venue negotiates a price with Paul's people then the Venue people need to recoup that price plus make some money. Then they all have lunch.

Im sure Paul doesnt set ticket prices himseld. I for one do not think he is in it for the money. I think he truly loves to play for his fans. I bet his production company sets prices based on demographics and what other performers are making. Paul has hundreds of people working for him that im sure are not rich and do work for the money. Im just glad Paul shows arent as outrageous as the Stones. You can get a reasonable ticket to a Paul show for around $100.
I certainly don't mean to offend but I do disagree with you... I think Paul certainly has some say in over his ticket prices. Billy Joel has always insisted on lower ticket prices at his shows. I remember seeing him back in 1998 and the tickets were 36.50 for every seat in the arena! When I saw him in Philly back in 2006, floor seats were only $75.00, compared to the $250.00 Paul was charging for the same seats a year earlier during the US Tour. Just because the demand is there, doesn't mean it is right to gouge the fans. I love Paul, but he is incredibly overpriced. Also, I don't really think Paul's 100 dollar tickets are all that reasonable. Those are the price range we usually buy and often end up in the nosebleed section.... of course, in a stadium, every seat that isn't in the first 10 rows feels like the nosebleed section!!

If Kid Rock has a say in his ticket prices, so does Paul McCartney. To think otherwise is just naive. Now, Paul has no control over scalping, which the article I posted above talks about. But I find it degrading, disgusting, and revolting that some artists have decided to fight scalping by becoming the scalpers themselves. By charging $200 or $300 a ticket, the fan pays the artist the ridiculous price rather than the scalper. And fans say, "I am happy to pay scalpers prices to the artist rather than to the scalper!!" Which is just foolish, IMO. With today's technology, the artist should find a way to get reasonably priced tickets to fans.

There's no reason for Paul to charge less as the place is always full when he gets there.

Then you are on the side of scalpers. Good for you.

Agreed. He is the biggest name in music and can (and will) charge exuberant prices for his fans.

You write as if it is some sort of privilege to pay such exuberant prices. It isn't. You keep paying it. I am happy not to pay it.

ticket prices slashed...I would not call it slashed but hey, I didn't write the article. http://tinyurl.com/pmdxg9b

Interesting.

I read comments online from Austin the other nights, reporting many, many scalpers outside desperate to sell their tix. Supposedly, some people got good seats for $20!
