Prices are HIGHER on this tour...

yea it is difficult to justify the ticket price no matter where you see him or how close you get to him what you are paying all that money for is a chance to see someone who created history and made a huge difference in this world with three other music lovers :

Exactly. And if you are a fan and have never seen him, I suggest forking out the cash and doing it. Paul McCartney is amazing! But I have seen him eight times and cannot justify spending that kind of money on top of taking off work, paying for an airline ticket, paying for a hotel, and buying food and drink. THAT'S why I won't travel for concerts anymore. I love McCartney but cannot justify all the expenses. But I can justify buying a concert ticket if he comes to my city. One poster asked what I will do with the $100. PLEASE!! $100 won't even get me a good nose bleed ticket by itself!

All I said was forking out.

Paul: $57.50, $87.50, $149.50, $250.00 Bruce: $35, $62, $95 ... And Bruce still makes the same money in shows as Paul does. Thoughts?

My thoughts are, that is grossly untrue..... There's no way Bruce is earning the same PER SHOW as Paul does PER SHOW. Maybe Bruce's full tour receipts, are around the same as Paul's..... but Paul plays a fraction of the amount of shows that Bruce does.
-
Folks, here's a really cool way to justify to yourself paying $250 for a concert ticket. If the concert lasts 2.5 hours, that's 150 minutes. So you are ONLY paying about $1.67 a minute to hang out in the same room with your favorite artist! And 15,000 other people!!

Yeah, I think that the tour gross may be the same for Bruce and Paul, but compare Bruce's tour schedule to Paul's.

Yeah. And compare how more fans are able to see Bruce because he does more shows and plays more cities and you don't have to have deep pockets to see him perform.

Does Bruce has as elaborate (and unneeded) stage as Paul? Paul could really do with a few less trailer loads of "stuff". Did I hear he has like 75 trucks or something?

Very true, RMartinez. Bruce is still selling out shows, and his rabid fans have more of a chance to see him multiple times than we Paul rabid fans do for both reasons. It's possible to see Bruce three times for what it costs to see Paul once in the best seats. Oobu--oh my, Bruce does indeed have a crazy stage set up with lighting and screens and such. Quite a show!

im kinda glade they havnt announced dates for here just yet cause i defenetly cant afford it right now i already have alot of shows and events for the next 3 months booked for me already

I agree. And it is a compliment to Paul. He should just go up with a clean stage, great lights and sound, and do a 2 hour show that is a retrospective of his whole amazing career. And charge $100, $75, and $50 for fans to see him. Yeah, I know. People are willing to pay $250 and upwards, so why should he stop? But he could reach more people if he did this more simple approach. Paul does NOT NEED a stage floor of LED screens, or to be on a platform up in the air 25 feet for two acoustic songs.
-
Ill say it again i go to see Paul to hear his music not the fluff and nonsense that maybe is creeping into his show i really cant fathom why he has the platform it seems fairly redundant just for a couple of songs but who knows he may use it more in the coming months. As for cost,he is expensive but so are others and the only one who can justify the cost is yourself i wont have a pop at anyone paying what seems like a fortune to me i say good luck to ya and enjoy the show.

I respect that. Everyone says, "Other artists are expensive too." Yeah, but I don't want to see all the other artists, I want to see McCartney!

perhaps he is trying something new- with the new tour.. I don't get the stage either unless he wanted to be intimate with the floor

Um, not sure which Springsteen show you saw that at, but Bruce doesn't use screens for graphics in arenas the way Paul does. There are 2 screens on each side of the stage to show closeups and the video feed, but that's usually it. In arenas, his staging is completely open at the back so people can sit behind the stage. For stadium shows, Bruce does not sell seats behind the stage; in stadiums they use a big screen behind the band for the video feed. But otherwise all his effects are done with lighting. He does charge less for his tickets than Paul does (to keep this on-topic), but from what I hear, his per-show guarantee is quite high, which is why he tends to skip certain cities on his tours--because the promoters won't meet it.
