Paul, Come To Australia

From the horse's mouth, the reasoning is "we can't fit it into Paul's diary - we want to tour like we did in 93."
So we're no closer than we've ever been by the sound of that? Really disappointing stuff from them.

A Paul tour in Australia is promoted, planned and executed right could be the biggest musical event in the country since the Beatles 64 Aussie tour. Play every capital city, appear on the big live tv/sports entertainment shows, see the animals he loves, Koala Bears, enjoy the sunshine and a change of scenary instead of driving trucks all around concrete and bridge congested America

Seems like the Australians just can't get a break. George Michael cancels Australia tour, cites anxiety: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/10/01/entertainment-us-georgemichael-cancellat-idUSBRE89007C20121001 I respect his decision to cancel the tour, and I admire his willingness to at least attempt work through the PTSD and/or anxiety, resulting from his health-scare last year. But he needs to work through this.

Last article says "...in talks for the past 6 months with 2 big promoters..." Sounds like something is in the works.. Hang in there Australia!

That article was in February, so there's still a little reason to keep the faith.

We get almost every international act you can think of in the world! The touring circuit is always very healthy here! Seemingly only Madonna and McCartney avoid us like the plague. (interestingly both of them last appeared here in 1993) Hell! Even Sinatra came back eventually!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Sadly I have news that the two promoters angling for Paul have now discontinued discussions...

Hey Everyone, Great you have tickets for Ringo Chris. I'm not sure if I will go. I am still holding out for Paul. It would be just my luck, I would buy tickets for Ringo and Paul would announce his tour.!!! Might see how it goes. I'm even starting to doubt he will tour here and i am the most optimistic person on earth!!! Cheers for now Chrissie.

2nd Sydney gig just announced too.

I'm going to the first Ringo show in Melbourne I guess I'll see you guys there! (Well, not really, I don't know who you are haha) I really hope Paul takes notice of Ringo coming here and a little bit of his competitive spirit kicks in. Such a shame that we've had to wait so long to see him.

Of course he won't take notice. 'World tour' to Paul's people means North and South America, not world.... and wherever they can make the most money. That's why they cancel on places like Oz and Denmark and even forget about Paul's own backyard at Christmas. I feel really sorry for you Aussies. You've been forgotten the most. *hugs* Enjoy Ringo.

I understand the disappointment about the cancelled Australia gigs ten years ago, but I don't get why Ringo is praised to the heavens at Paul's expensive like this. Paul HAS toured Australia twice in the past while Ringo ignored the country for almost 50 years and is just now doing his first solo tour there. It's only in the past couple of years that Ringo has genuinely made an effort to tour outside North America while Paul has been doing it since the early 70's. He's played London every Christmas for the past three years but now he's a bad guy for not playing locally this Christmas too? Sorry, but it sounds a bit dramatic to me.

Criticism where it's due, and in this regard it's due Paul McCartney in spades!!!
