I got the email that I got tickets as well. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I would be making the trip from the east coast and have a lot going on at home, so before I tell my husband about this, I want to see if anyone knows what it will be like. (I am not very familiar with L.A.) Thanks!

I've been to a Kimmel concert before where Hollywood Blvd. was shut down. Kimmel tapes at the El Capitan Theater, right in the heart of Hollywood, and right near one of the busiest intersections, Hollywood and Highland. I can already imagine the crush of people that are going to be down there that day! Keeping that in mind, I would get to the concert area as early as possible. However, according to the ticket instructions, you cannot line up before 3 pm. Make sure you bring a jacket or a light sweater, because if may get a little cool in the evening. Let me know if you need any other info!

they'll be closing down a section of Hollywood Blvd. so streets will be a bit congested. there's probably going to be a lot of waiting since we'll have to wait for JKL show to finish up before the concert starts. I've been to a JKL outdoor concert before but nothing as big as this! I GOT PICKED, TOO! Gonna be the best birthday ever!!!!!!

Expect traffic and parking to be very difficult. Consider staying somewhere where you can take Metro subway that stops at Hollywood and Highland so you don't have to wrestle with parking and traffic. If you drive, allow PLENTY of time! Rush hour in L.A. is close to 24/7.

Was able to score ticketss so I'll be going to the concert too! At what time are you guys planning on getting there?? And should we expect the concert to be a full-length concert? Too excited!! Can't wait until Monday!!

The instructions on the ticket say that people can't start lining up until 3 pm. I myself plan on being in the area much earlier than that! The concert most likely won't be full length. He'll probably do like 4 or 5 songs, with a possibility of some extra songs that won't end up in the TV broadcast, though!

Actually Sound City Players (with Dave Grohl) did a (nearly) full length set for JKL this year! http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/sound-city-players/2013/jimmy-kimmel-live-los-angeles-ca-6bdb764a.html so gutted that I didn't go to that one, I could've gotten tickets but at the time I didn't have any rocker friends (just mockers ;)).

WooHoo!!! I also got picked in the lottery and have my tickets all printed and ready to go. Now, to figure out a strategy for lining up and getting a reasonable view of Paul and the band. According to the tickets the friends and family of the Jimmy Kimmel Show, the radio winners, VIPS, and the studio audience all get the "pen closest to the stage". Then the people with "general" tickets are next closest to the stage--so us and what? 20,000 other fans?? This should be interesting and exciting--I love a challenge!! Also, they don't allow cameras in at all and no food or drink, purses or backpacks. Guess I'll be wearing something with large pockets!

After a lot of thought and anguish, I think I am going to pass this time just because I have so much going on at home right now, and taking several days off to travel to the west coast is a bit more than I can handle. I'm disappointed but I'll turn my tickets from the lottery back in so that hopefully one of you wait-listers will get them.

..ahhhh wow! that is kind of you... airfare & hotel too... hope you get great tix next time for Paul! I wonder how many are wait-listed... including me?
-
Harley-- Are you sure your wait list is for tickets for the concert and not for tickets for the actual Jimmy Kimmel Show? There are 2 different spots where you register for tickets. The one for the concert actually says "Lottery" on it and I think it's in bright green. You might want to go into the 1iota.com and check your account. Just trying to be helpful!! Good luck!

Will he perform his new song "New" on this?
