Soundcheck CD
-
Since McCartney has put out quite a few live CD's, I wondered if it would be a cool idea to have a "Soundcheck CD" from the years of touring. I am sure they record these things, not sure how good the quality of the recording would be but assume it should be fine. I guess my question is to the fans who have attended soundchecks is whether there would be enough "different/obscure" songs he has done in soundchecks that are not on any other live McCartney CD. People would not buy it if there was not a substantial amount of different songs. Just curious about everyone's thoughts of this idea.

I'd prefer a DVD. Perhaps, as a bonus disc for his next live-CD?
-
I'd love it, but realistically I would see it as some kind of bonus download thing through the website, or with the next live CD, or DVD.
-
I highly doubt that they would release a soundcheck cd...that's where they make some mucho dinero. $$$$

Sounds good to me.

True but they make mucho dinero from tickets to concerts but still have put out numerous live recordings.

Cool but as long as it has different songs on it they have not been played often live. I would like it to have stuff like "Ram On", "Big Barn Bed", 1950's rock covers etc. I am sure people who have been to these could name other songs.

I think they want the soundcheck to be something special & more private. The total number of people attending a soundcheck is no where near the amount of people at one of the regular shows.

Ok. Personally, I don't think a recording of songs thru the years done at soundcheck would stop people from wanting to go in the future. I would think what makes it special is the closeness to the stage and the "personal" moments with McCartney which I don't think would be spoiled by a recording.

ok. There is NO closeness to the stage during a soundcheck. You are usually about 40 rows back. You have a ticket to the regular show up front but not for the soundcheck. The soundchecks are not even bootlegged very often & people tend to covet them. They don't even want cameras there during the soundcheck but some pics always do get out.

but there is a 4 discs boot collection of soundchecks...
-
I never said that they couldn't be found...

Really, thought people could be closer. That kinda of stinks especially for that amount of money IMO

There are many soundcheck recordings (from the 89/90 and 93 tours) on Paul's 1995 Oobu Joobu radio series in excellent quality. There is also soundcheck bonus footage on the "Back In The US" and "The Space Within US" DVDs, plus a lot of stuff officially uploaded by Paul's staff via various websites.

I never realized this either about the distance. We did also get a few soundcheck recordings on "Tripping..." and "Paul Is Live," of course.

There are only two songs that I really want from the sound checks---Celebration and India. I actually have India from an unnamed source, but I can't find Celebration anywhere. Great songs that deserve a proper recording.

True but McCartney has played a lot of shows since those live CD's. I checked youtube clips quickly and you can find different songs like "Honey Don't", "Blue Suede Shoes", "Midnight Special" , Tequilla", "Bluebird", "Honey Hush","Petrushka","Celebration" and "It's So Easy To Fall in Love".

Has Paul and his band sound-check'ed "India' since The Secret Website Show in 2002?

I don't think so. And I LOVE that song!
