Wow, fantastic photos from both of you! Thanks for sharing. They really went all out for the NY event. That one photo with the skyline is gorgeous. And the guy who brought the poster.... I was waiting with his father and aunt in LA! Lucy, I was going to try the light paint idea, you did a nice job! parlance

Hey I'm the guy with the poster!! My family was in LA telling me everything that happened! My mom was there and she got me a signed picture from Chris Carter. I had to keep my mom up to date the whole time I was here and she was keeping me up to date throughout the night at Vineland. She said the coordinator was super nice and made everything helpful over there!

Thanks for the photos! NYC looks especially great. Funny that it hadn't occurred to me that VW was a natural choice because of the Beetle!

Nice to meet you too! Yes, we were united! On my moms Facebook she posted this after the event. "Just heard a full album playback of Paul's soon to be released album!! One in LA at the Vineland Drive-In and one in NYC. All I can say is the man is a genius! Julian is NYC and us here.... Thank you Sir Paul for uniting us through your music!! We do have a special connection with Paul and with his music. It's just amazing how Paul's work can unite people from everywhere!

Thank you!! Yes, NEW York City! I knew I had to start some sort of trend with the album. Maybe if Paul performs at Yankee Stadium, City Field, The Garden, or Barclays during a NEW tour, people will have similar signs that I made. That would be so awesome to see all over the venue!! I made it on the train ride on the back of an old resume! Lol my mom taught me well and I'll be forever grateful!

glad everyone had fun at the listening parties. Shame that there wasn't anything scheduled for fans in the Midwest, tho. It's always LA and NY that get the perks. :

Just figured I'd chime in with my experience with the L.A. listening party: First off, like parlance said (nice meeting you by the way! And nice meeting you too, polythenelucy!), the L.A. listening party was super casual, very appropriate for California. I got a really unique experience during and preceding the listening party. I haven't told a lot of people this, but I do work with and help out Chris Carter with various things, including tonight's event. I even found out about tonight's events in NY and LA before they were officially announced! So before the listening began, it was cool chatting with various folks and seeing how excited they were about being there and being able to listen to the whole album. It was also really cool to see people talking to Chris, getting pictures with him and getting his autograph as well. This lasted for about an hour and a half so until around 7:20, when I walked over with Chris to the projection booth to get the show started. Unlike the NY event, the projection was really simple: just the album artwork with the title of the song, but, it didn't really matter: people were getting to hear the whole album in full! Many people started honking their horns and cheered when they heard a song they really liked. So cool! My impressions: I think the album is great on first listen. I think I have to listen to it again to really rank it, but on the whole, there are songs I really, really like. Standouts are "New," "Queenie Eye," "Everybody Out There," "Save Us" and "I Can Bet". The one minor critique I have is that on a few songs, Paul's voice is treated with some sort of electronic processing (not autotune!) that is an attempt to make his voice sound younger, or something. It works on "New," but it sounds kinda odd on others. Having said that, that's the only critique I have with the album so far. Again, I think that this album is very strong. It's very slickly produced, and it shows! I have some pics as well, I'll post those in the next few days!
You work at KLOS? My mom had talked to somebody who worked at the radio station, maybe it was you. If it was you she had told you I was in NY and she was in LA. She said the worker told her Paul gave him a "high five" while he was in his limo a while back and the worker had called his dad and his dad couldn't believe it. She told me his name but I don't want to say it on here for privacy reasons. But anyway, she was telling me that the event coordinator did a great job and that it was really well done!
I don't work directly with KLOS, but there were a couple of other guys there at the event from the station, your mom probably talked to one of them. Also, here some pics from the L.A. drive-in event:

Thanks for posting the pics of LA!! How nice to see a real drive-in again!

It's so weird to see the Drive-In I used to go to when I was a kid all over Paul McCartney fan boards. I would have never thought in a million years anybody here would ever know about this place. Pretty cool though that Paul picked Vineland Drive-In to release his album! Feels close to home even though I am in New York now. Can't really explain it, but just very magical for me!
