...I am descended from a family of profound English commoners just like Kate!
Kate may be a "commoner," but she is biologically related to her...husband. Fact. sorry.
Oh, well I looked this up, and it sayz, Catherine and William are 12th cousins once removed? Wow, that is really a LONG wayz away from being close. : They will have such beautiful babies! More to come!
I traced my Ancestry back a couple of years ago and discovered that I was 999th cousin to EVERYONE!

That was the point I was illustrating. I was moved to joyous tears to see the new baby with Catherine and William! Such a sweet moment to share with the world. Many blessings!

Lovely name! My Dad's first name was George!
-
Don't they have enough Georges in that family? I hope they call him Alex.
-
This is OT, but had to share--my Dad is in assisted living and they (thankfully) moved him to another table and his new dining companions are named George and Richard. I asked him where was Paul and John? He laughed!

Welcome to the world, Prince George! Congratulations, William and Kate! What a delight it has been for our family to see the elation the birth of this little one has brought. LOVED seeing the joyful faces of the visiting first-time grandparents, the ringing of the bells, the gun salutes, and even Niagara Falls illuminated in blue...beautiful! I have not seen this mentioned, did anyone notice Prince William kiss Prince George's head as he was fading into the hall after returning inside the hospital to place the baby in the car seat? Sooooo sweet!!! We are so happy to learn that mother and baby are doing well and that things are progressing well within the family. May Prince George be blessed with the ability and opportunity to fulfill the hope and promise his birth has brought forth and most importantly, may he be afforded the level of privacy his parents deem necessary for his safety and well being. Sending love and the very best of luck to the young prince!

I second your good wishes to the royal couple, Anita Just an observation, but assuming Kate and Wills told the truth about not knowing the sex of their child, did Kate have a pink polka dot dress and Wills have a pink shirt at the hospital, as well, in case it was a girl?

Hi Denise, taking into consideration this couple's efforts in forethought and preparedness, my guess is yes, they were prepared for either outcome.

Gosh, it would be nice to have a SPARE $1500 dress. Sigh

$1,500., was that the cost of the blue dress? We'll have to put Kate in touch with a new designer, $1,500. is a bit pricy for that particular dress. Kate probably wore the pink dress later in the week.

How exciting to hear about the new baby of such a lovely couple. It's always so exciting to hear about the Royals over here, as we don't have our own! I was thinking of Princess Diana also and how proud she would have been. She was a fiercely loyal mum who tried to raise her sons right. I'm sure she has been there for them all of the way. Can't wait to hear more news and pictures of the new baby
She loathed the Royals. It's well-documented.
I've read quite a bit about Diana. She loathed the way they treated her as she was thrown into her role as Princess, as a young girl with not enough guidance from the royals. She, however, did an amazing job representing England. She was a tireless campaigner for many many charities. I believe she was the first royal who made a point of touching, kissing, hugging, AIDS and HIV patients, back when people treated them like lepers. She campaigned for Land Mines and went out into the mine fields, against royal orders. She campaigned for the Leprosy Mission. She was compared to Mother Theresa because of her dedication to help those in need. She was an extremely classy lady, who became a world wide style icon. She became much more popular to the chagrin of Charles and the royals. She also dedicated her life to her children, and was so much more involved in their lives. Very much more so than the Queen was involved with Charles and his sibs. Diana was an extraordinary human being, whose life was cut short, with murky stories and innuendos regarding her untimely death. It is so sad she didn't live to see her grandchild as she started out as a teacher and she dearly loved children, especially her own. I think it was a bit of a suprise to the Royals, when upon her death, the entire world joined together to morn her passing. There was quite a bit of controversy on how Diana was recognized by the Royals and changes were made, due to public outcry. In the end things were done properly. May her soul rest in peace, she was a really good person. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9709/04/diana.royals.under.fire/

They definitely are more together, individually and as a unit, than some royals have been in the past. And good for them for staying out of sight. They have good neighbors in Buckleberry who are helping them stay incognito, I would imagine. Good choice, Wills!

Me too. But what I can't figure out is some people act like you committed a mortal sin and freak out about the issue of knowing or not. My said it the funniest. when a girlfriend told me she was pregnant and that they already knew it was a girl, my mom quipped, "Oh. She peeked."

Maybe it's Cosmic Synchronicity... A crew of deep ocean salvagers recently found several million dollars worth of silver bars that were on a ship that was torpedoed by a natzi submarine off the coast of Ireland during WWII. They get to keep all of it except for around 20% which goes to England who owned the bars to begin with. Curiously...England has been looking for metal to mint coins for the new young prince.
