I'm amazed y'all cited "Little River Band" they're from Little River, S.C. and I always sort of discounted them as not being that talented.
NO they're not from S.C. they are Australian, from Melbourne.
-
^ I thought they were from Outback, Arkansas :
-
I knew they were from Melbourne, Australia. Their accents do not sound like South Carolinians. I grew up there for a few years of my life, did not sound like there.

The One - Sir Elton John
I have never even seen this video till recently, and it has been out over 20 years. I just love the music and lyrics so very much. "When stars collide like you and I No shadows block the sun." -
She's Out of My Life - Michael Jackson
This came on the radio yesterday and I realized I never saw a video for it. Regardless of one's opinion of MJ, he was a great artist. RIP Michael -
love of a lifetime by fire house is one of my favorites

Marvin Hamlisch, composer of movie score and musical theater greats, was honored on PBS "American Masters Tonight" and I realized, although they're all fawning and falling over themselves praising him, only a few of his songs really move me--the theme to "Ice Castles" I always thought is very pretty and moving. "The Way We Were" for Barb Striesand is pretty emotional. His perky "ragtime" jazz outings are enjoyable, such as for "The Sting" Redford/Newman movie.l Macca's music thrills me so much more, and so many more of Macca's...almost all of Macca's, in fact, which is extraordinary A dazzling record Hard to beat. Ditto for Burt Bacharach, who with Hal David was honored with the George Gershwin Prize (like Macca was) on PBS, at the Whitehouse tonight. I fancy some of theirs but no comparison to my reaction to Macca music. Stevie Wonder, Lyle Lovett and Sheryl Crow are some artists who sang at that. Crow and Lovett sound great together.

Lonely Days - The Bee Gees
I keep hearing the studio version on the radio and thought to share it. I wish I could have seen them in concert. -
I found this song, heard it on the radio yesterday. I was in love with this song when I was 10 years old. I still love it. Romeo's Tune - Steve Forbert
-
Another 'love song' seems to be a song for the World. And I just love the lyrics Bernie Taupin writes as usual. I also love the video and how the scenes move to London and New York, etc... BELIEVE - Elton John
Peace & Love! -
'She' ...... Elvis Costello's version. It makes me feel something every single time. I sent the song to my girlfriend and she cried. Haha! She May be the face I can't forget A trace of pleasure or regret May be my treasure or the price I have to pay She may be the song that summer sings May be the chill that autumn brings May be a hundred different things Within the measure of a day. She May be the beauty or the beast May be the famine or the feast May turn each day into a heaven or a hell She may be the mirror of my dreams A smile reflected in a stream She may not be what she may seem Inside her shell She who always seems so happy in a crowd Whose eyes can be so private and so proud No one's allowed to see them when they cry She may be the love that cannot hope to last May come to me from shadows of the past That I'll remember till the day I die She May be the reason I survive The why and wherefore I'm alive The one I'll care for through the rough and ready years Me I'll take her laughter and her tears And make them all my souvenirs For where she goes I've got to be The meaning of my life is She, she, she

Better put a ring on it! Beautiful song, except for the "heaven or hell" part!

Every Breath You Take, right?

Every Breath You Take, right?
The original stalker song!

"The First Time" by Ewan McColl struck me as almost unbearably beautiful and romantic "the first time" I heard it, and for a long time after. Marianne Faithfull has a gorgeous sort of "folksy" version when her voice was still high and sweet, which is my favorite version. Roberta Flack's is good but perhaps she slowed it down a bit too much.

Actually, I think Sting himself said that people consider it a romantic song, when really it was meant to be quite dark.

When I listen to this song...I hear the whole human race groaning and travailing together thru millennia hoping for and working toward ...a day and time of true peace on earth for all Summer's Day Song ~ Paul
