Lack of ticket sales. Only half of the 60,000 were sold at the time of his cancellation a month before the show. I've never bought the Bali bombing excuse. Did he cancel Madrid after the bombing there in 04? No, he played two months later. He played New York five weeks after 9/11. And he still hasn't "made up" for the cancelled shows in Horsens, Denmark in 2012 (as he "promised" he would).

Seems to me the Horsens have bolted.

For years I have been imploring Marshall Arts to get at least A show here. Always the reply is similar: "When we can find a window in Paul's schedule..." Well, seems to me the windows have well and truly been shuttered up and nailed close!

I am sorry for all of you there, I wish he would be able to work it all out (money, schedule, whatever) and do some shows!! Stones just postponed all of their Australian/NZ shows due to death of Mick's girlfriend. The release I saw told fans to hold on to their tickets and that there will be new dates.

Hi Robert, Are you referring to Paul's rumoured return to Japan in 2014? Have you heard any details, like venues, dates, or number of shows? The only thing that seems to have been mentioned online is the possibility of Paul playing at the Budokan... Cheers, Andrew.

Wow Japan again? I can totally see why he would though. They totally deserve it. Maybe we might score if he ends up there again, but probably not. I would totally go there again though I must say!

Just to add my voice to the need to get paul to come here to Australia. I've been a life long Beatles fan but now it's more important than ever to see Paul as my 7 year old daughter has developed an obsession. She knows that this will possibly be the last time she will get to see a living legend come to Australia so I really want to be able to share that with her. It's positive that he's coming back to Japan so hopefully this puts us in with a shot.

He's not coming to Australia this year. Why would he when he can revisit South America and Japan again so soon? Sheesh... I don't know what's behind Paul's continual NEGLECT of Aussie fans. When he 'postponed' the 2002 tour (haha) he said he'd be back to make it up to us (double haha). Here we are, 12 years later, and nothing has happened. NOTHING! Who could blame Aussie fans for being pissed off?! Meanwhile, since 2002 he has toured the US, Europe, South America and Japan- multiple times. Does Paul just hate Australia or something? Anyway you slice it, it's a bloody disgrace. I don't care if this post makes me unpopular, but I challenge ANYONE to argue that 'postponing' a tour in 2002 and doing nothing for 12 years is ok.... The irony is, we are so starved down here that just ONE show would be fantastic. ONE show and all would be forgiven. Are we asking too much?
-
All would be forgiven in an instant if he was rocking somewhere on our shores again I bet! I'm pissed too, but the Japanese absolutely deserve another run. Was glad to see that happen after experiencing those shows last year seeing their passion and dedication. They're amazing! Would anyone know of who the two promoters that were in talks with Paul last year were?

Unless there is something I am missing, the bottom line is money. McCartney does not hate Australia. Japan just offers more money. I agree, it is strange, to me, he is going right back to Japan, and to two cities he just played. The only reason can be money. I don't think McCartney hates New Mexico. But as long as Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas can keep offering twice the pay, he will never play New Mexico ever again. Altruism be damned.

http://venuestoday.wordpress.com/tag/paul-mccartney/ Has Paul cut back in any way on this tour? Not really, yet. He?s very conscious of the downturn, but it hasn?t honestly affected his business. We?re proud to say he does give a great show, two and a half hours long every night and four decades of music. He is an event. He doesn?t play repetitively in the same markets. His main instruction is ?Barrie, I want to go to new markets and new buildings I haven?t played before.? Mmmmmm.... Has Paul played China? No, but we?re looking at it; we?re looking at going. It?s up to Paul. He makes all his own decisions. It will be nice to go if the time is right and hopefully he may go. Mmmmmm....

Paul has just announced South Korea in May Surely surely he is going to announce Australia for June. If he doesn't come now I don't think it will ever happen, since he is in the neighbourhood so to speak for us aussies.

No, he is not and will not. Our frustration is through the roof!
-
I take onboard what your saying but keep in mind who would of guessed he would ever go to Korea. Never say never. anything is possible.
-
Is he doing all this on purpose to piss off Australia? Actually, I think Australia is about as far away from Japan as the USA, so I am not sure it is in the "neighborhood" though I used to think so. Still, Paul plays the USA and South America, so why not Asia and Oceana?
