Tokyo, Japan, National Stadium, May 17 & 18 - POSTPONED

Paul should postpone the entire Asian tour, then take the US tour bit by bit (maybe push back the starting June dates). Slowly make up the Asian tour later in the year, and then rethink his schedule come 2015. Billy Joel does 1 show a week. Paul does 4. Billy is 7 years younger than Paul. Rest up Paul. Looking forward to July!

I agree that he should at least postpone the Asian dates. Being stuck sick in a hotel room on the other side of the world is no fun (even though I'm sure it's a very nice hotel), and he might recover more quickly at home in familiar surroundings. This is assuming he's well enough to travel at the moment.

Have you heard something more than I have about his illness? The us dates are nearly a month away. Why would a simple virus, that Paul and crew obviously thought would only set them back a day, take nearly a month to recover from?

Found this info on another forum: "The staging in the stadium is being dismantled, I have two friends who flew over from Australia to see the shows and they just went by the stadium and saw the equipment being pulled down".
-
Has any of Paul's band had to skip a tour date? A friend of mine had a music teacher who said he drummed for Paul during a few dates when Blair Cunningham was sick in 1993.

Some sources are now saying the shows will be rescheduled for early June.

And now it's official: the Japanese shows are not going to happen. http://outthere-japantour.com/ Release Statement regarding the remaining Japanese shows A spokesperson for Paul McCartney said: Paul McCartney will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows. Paul is still not feeling better and this cancelation is unavoidable. He was hoping to be better but the doctors have ordered him complete rest. Paul has been extremely moved by the messages from his fans and is upset to be letting them down. All possibilities to find a solution to reschedule these shows as soon as possible are being explored. From Paul: I was really looking forward to playing in Japan again after we had such an amazing time here in November. So to cancel these shows as well as the National Stadium shows is hugely disappointing for me as well. I'd like to thank my Japanese fans for their love, messages of support and understanding. I hope to see you all again soon. Love, Paul

I hope the Korea date is still going ahead as planned! There's a chance I might not make it if it gets rescheduled

Some shows in 1976 were rescheduled when Jimmy McCulloch broke his finger, was just reminded about that.

I'm sorry for all those with tickets. I hope he can come back and it will fit your plans.

The Wings Over America tour was originally scheduled for April and May. After Jimmy broke his finger they decided to reschedule the first part of the tour (West Coast dates) and retain the other dates. So, instead of hitting the West coast first and traveling to the East, they ended the tour in the West.
