Crowdsurge BITES!
-
It seems that TicketMaster did not have any problems yesterday regarding the PM tickets. At least for the Albany venue, it seemed that only VIP packages were available yesterday though. CrowdSurge is directly responsible for their erroneous redirection of customers to the incorrect venue. Certainly folks that ended up purchasing tickets to an incorrect venue because of their error, should be able to get a quick refund! Call their customer service number ASAP though. As far as those that missed out due to the error, maybe MPL can put some pressure on them to somehow compensate those that were affected by the error although it's going to be had to prove to them that you had an issue with their system. I would call them up and escalate the issue to senior management and keep escalating until you get some satisfaction. I have seen some here insinuate that this error was intentional to help the scalpers--to me this sounds extremely unlikely...much more likley that it was just sloppy programming that no one tested properly before they made it available to the public.

I just wonder why there is absolutely no response from anyone on Paul's team about this travesty. THey are so eager to sell tickets to anyone, except the fans. I think that anyone who has had this problem should be bombarding the administrators and moderators with emails.

This is correct. TM does not handle this website's presale of any of the regular-priced tickets. On the first day of presales, they only will sell VIP packages. The only way to get tickets via the PM.com website presale of the regular seats is thru Crowdsurge. Today there are American Express presales thru Ticketmaster, and many cities and venues sometimes have local or radio station presales that need passwords. But that is why this is such a big error on behalf of PM.com - this was a special presale for the fans only, and they botched it.

Why not bombard Crowd Surge with tons of emails? They are the ones that created this issue yesterday by messing up the links. Paul's people didn't create this mess Crowd Surge did. Paul's folks could help facilitate a response from crowd surge about yesterday of course to help get a resolution, but Paul's board admins were just posting the links crowd surge gave them.

Looks like there are plenty of American Express tickets available at least in Albany & New Orleans (only two cities I checked--NO still has VIP tickets available too!). If you missed out on tickets yesterday and if you don't have a AE card, find a friend with one grab some tickets while they are still available.

The 'some here' you refer to is me. If it was sloppy programming it would have happened to everyone and not just some. Yes, I do believe there was an intentional 'error' coded in so that people were redirected. It is a rather easy program to code. If they were good at it they would have it so that random clicks would be redirected and not all. There is no other explaination for it. What they forgot is that it is easy for people to contact each other today. The people that it happened to can make it known on boards like this. Three of us trying for tickets yesterday are programmers. After it happened Imentioned that I was directed to the wrong venue. Another person said that happened to them too. The other person got in, but could not get tickets. The conclusion of programmers were that it is intentional. The scalpers just found another way to get the tickets away from people. They put the "type this phrase" security in because scalpers were getting in and taking tickets away from people. Now they can get past that. If it was a coding error everyone would have been sent to the wrong venue. I also doubt that MPL cares. If they did they would end their relationship with Crowd "we care about your satisfaction" Surge.

I always use Ticketmaster, never Crowdsurge.

That too, but the administrators and moderators should be horrified about what happened in the name of their client and talk to the powers that be and correct this asap. They have been particularly quiet, although they only seem to pop up when tickets need to be sold.

I wonder if Sir Paul knows about what happened here? Hopefully someone told him and if he cares he has booted them out on their rear ends, or at least reprimanded them. : I don't mean to incur the wrath of the website, I just am wondering what happened is all.

I write trading algorithms for a living and so I'm also well versed in programming, though I don't do Web programming. I didn't witness the problem yesterday so I don't know how pervasive the erroneous redirects were. You are saying that only some were redirected to the wrong venue? The problem I have with this being done intentionally is: 1. MPL will probably drop them due to all of the problems encountered by fans yesterday. It makes them both look bad. 2. I can't see how by helping scalpers (and p*ssing off PM fans) that Crowdsurge would benefit financially. Can you address especially point number 2? If you are saying that scalpers hacked into the system and planted the bug I can understand, but I also think this is an extremely unlikely scenario.

Does Crowdsurge have a sell on option like ticketmaster? If you sell the tickets that you have bought on ticketmaster through their market, they get fee's for both. I don't know if its the same with crowdsurge

No one is going to tell Paul directly. He is busy doing his part for the tour, however he has people that take care of these things for him and they are the ones who should be paying attention to what goes on in their clients name.

I ended up unknowingly buying three tickets to pittsburgh that I thought were louisville. Ive emailed crowdsurge twice and keep getting the same automated answer. They are aware the problem occurred at their fault but are still trying to find a resolution to the problem and will be in touch. Im still waiting. How long does it take to decide to give someone a refund on their tickets or not? I would at least like some kind of answer so I can figure out the next step on what to do with these tickets because right now im just out $850.
-
Just have your credit card dispute the charge. Write them a letter explaining what happened and that CrowdSurge provided the wrong tickets. They should remove the charge from your bill. That's what I would do!
-
Anyone get any satisfaction from these folks??

Wow...that is just terrible and unacceptable.
-
I just got an email from crowdsurge asking if the tickets I purchased were the ones I wanted, so it looks as if they are addressing the issue and hopefully will resolve it by selling comparable tickets to the ones purchased for the wrong venue. Mine was good so no need to do anything.
-
Crowdsurge closed my complaint without an answer this morning, so I sent ANOTHER email. This time they got back with me apologizing again and are offering to cancel my tickets and refund my money, which I told them was fine. We'll see how long that takes. What a disappointment overall though. Pitiful service.

Tell CrowdSurge that you thin it's only right that you are properly compensated for all of the trouble you went though and the opportunity cost of the tickets you missed out on because of their software error!
