Bruce M.:
This is just sad.
Not as sad as some videos I've seen of Pete Best performing at BeatleFests.
He never smiles while he's drumming, that's what bothered me. The group with him (including his brother Roag on drums) are good though.

You wanna know how sad? You Tube his performances of the last couple if years. Woeful.
He's going to be performing with the McCartney Years (Tribute band to Wings) later this year into 2015.
They are MUCH better than the band Denny usually has these days.I've got tickets for T.M.Y. outside of Chicago in October. I didn't hear Denny was supposed to be with them...that would be awesome!

Gosh, I can't find the one vid that I'm thinking of. He was drumming & was in a corner...just looked very sad & bored. I'm sure he & his band are good.

"Children Children" was...OK. "Band On The Run" and "Live & Let Die"...hard. to. watch. BOTR: The backing band sounded like a bunch of amateurs at a rock & roll fantasy camp for kids, and while LALD was a tighter performance, Denny's vocals were hard to forgive.

You're being very charitable.

In his defense, he still sounds great on "Picasso's Last Words", "Richard Cory", "Go Now", and the songs that were meant to suit his voice. When he gets into the Macca-lead Wings songs, it doesn't always work out.

OMG that was beyond awful.

How pathetic is it that Denny Laine, once a member of Wings, can only find work as a guest of a Wings tribute band? I never cared for the guy after all the crap in the 80s that he pulled in his bitterness at Paul. And his wife Jo Jo never missed a chance to slag on Paul and Linda, though she was no pure flower herself. His Wings songs were always my least favorite, as I never cared for his voice. I cant imagine hearing him do Live and Let Die...

Go Now
Never knew why he left the Moody Blues, obviously they did quite well without him - lol.
-
Maybe he left because of an invitation from Paul.
-
I saw the remaining Moody Blues perform in March - they did a lot of cool stuff after Denny left, although I do like Go Now.

Unless he knew back in 1966 that McCartney was going to leave the Beatles and form Wings in 1971 tend to doubt it -
-
Why did Denny leave the Moody Blues?
-
And he co wrote no words
-
Good luck to everybody who entered!
-
I liked hearing Denny singing Richard Cory.
