Did Paul's Voice Really Change?
-
It's already 2016, when I said "now" in my previous post, I meant 2005. And when I daid "good," I meant "okay." Pardon me, I was a little "buggy."

all musicians deserve to be paid and appreciated for their art. i would love to see Paul appear in my local village hall but it ain't gonna happen. Unless I win the UK lottery and can afford to pay his fee. Now there's an idea, I'm off to purchase a ticket.
He does deserve to be paid. That's my point. He does do it for the money too. Cool. If you win, buy a Paul show in New Mexico! Or subsidize one!
What he's asking (and getting) per concert does not match the quality of his performance. It's all nostalgia based. He's a shadow of his performing self. Take the emotion out of the equation, and it's clear. In the meantime fans in other regions will never see him because he demands an unreasonable fee.

I just watched one of his recent live performance (Get Back from Lollapalooza 2015) I think his voice is still good. I'm sorry, Fine Line (live) was in my head when I first replied to this topic. What a horrible big voice!

I don't think he's doing concerts for money. I mean, I don't think it's the main thing. I think he's doing it for his pride. To be able to tell the world, "I'm still Paul McCartney. I'm still touring. I am not 'doing the garden, digging the weeds'... I can still fill stadiums."

Plus he LOVES it!

No, Robert, I meant the sheer joy of performing in front of a live audience!

Spot on. Agree 100%. People are literally paying to "see a Beatle" -- and that, alone, is worth the price of the ticket to a lot of folks.

Yes, I forgot to say that.

When did this thread stop being about Paul's voice?
-
I'll fix that. In answer to the question did Paul's voice really change? Yes, it has deteriorated.

When did this thread stop being about Paul's voice?
After 15 pages, I'm surprised it's not about tomatoes.

nah, there's no evidence that eating tomatoes has affected his voice !!

Unfortunately, yes.

Great blog, Eggman!

I think songs like Blackbird, Yesterday, I've Just Seen A Face, etc sound fantastic with his current vocal sound. The only songs that really suffer are songs like The Fool on the Hill (ow!), Here, There and Everywhere (ouch) and Maybe I'm Amazed (by far the worst). It's still Paul and he's amazing. He's a living legend.
