Things I Would Love to See At McCartney Concert

One thing I'd like to see... A response from the audience that is worthwhile for a solo/Wings song. Too bad that'll never happen..
IMO - You have a chance of good reaction from Wings songs because Beatle fans might have followed McCartney a bit after the Beatles. The only really good reaction you will get from a McCartney solo song is probably "Here Today" and part of that is due to being a tribute to Lennon.

Personally I think it's fantastic that Paul's team gives seats in the first two rows to people who can't afford to pay those huge ticket prices. Even if you go into debt to pay those premiums, that's your decision. Many people can't afford those premiums and can't afford to go into debt. I think it's awesome that Paul's team makes someone's year by bringing them from the very back up to the very front.
Like others, I disagree. People here do all they can to buy tickets as soon as possible and pay big money and they don't get chance at the best available seats. I don't think that is fair and I have never sat that close.
Neither have I. But I have never won the lottery either. And I doubt Paul would want to see the same faces in show after show after show if uber fans were given the first shot at empty seats in the first or second row. It'd be pretty boring for him. Makes sense to me that his team gives it to people who can then feel like they won the lottery. I don't begrudge any of them that luck. And it's more fun for Paul to see new enthusiastic faces.
OK, but I tend to doubt Mr. McCartney recognizes the faces in the front row from show to show unless they are family members or his friends.
I know for a fact that's not true. Paul later met and remembered one of our Boardies who was on the front row.

The LA Times reviewer mentioned that Let Me Roll It got a HUGE response at Dodger Stadium.
Here too! And Live & Let Die is always a winner!

Things I would love to see at a McCartney show: Ringo!
-
Paul remembers faces of people who are near the front. Even if you are wearing dress up clothes.

What about "Mrs. Vandebilt"? Crowds have been LOVING that one.

I'm sure that Paul McCartney doesn't love every one of his post-Beatles albums -- and that's OK -- but I really do wonder what he considers to be his better solo albums. My guess is that Flaming Pie would be in his list; he's done a handful of those songs over the years. Chaos might another contender. But I wonder: Does he like Back To The Egg? Does he like Flowers In The Dirt?

Wanting Paul to play more songs from his solo years IS constructive. Wanting Paul to play our home town IS constructive. Wanting Paul to ROCK out instead of playing his lighter pop material IS constructive. If Paul doesn't care what any of us think, why put out product and expect us to buy it? If Paul could care less about our opinions, why tour and sell tickets to his performance?
Thank you. Makes ya' wonder why some folks even bother clicking into a thread that clearly indicates that there may be some criticism regarding Paul's "Broadway-show."

Audi...I remember an interview Paul had around '89. where he was asked about his latest album (Flowers In The Dirt). He indicated the only reason why he decided on touring again was to play and promote the "Flowers..." album. Adding that he wouldn't want to be on the road plugging an album that he didn't love (paraphrasing).
-
I'll one-better ya': On the tour after that, promoting Off The Ground, he expressly said that he didn't want to become a "rock & roll, '60s package."

Not makin' it up. It's the God's truth.
-
What does he need to add? An orchestra. Wix is no orchestra.

Mr. McCartney definitely recognizes faces and remembers people up close in the audience. I would have had a hard time believing it if it didn't happen to me.

Phil, it would be hard for him not to recognise you!

Thank you. Makes ya' wonder why some folks even bother clicking into a thread that clearly indicates that there may be some criticism regarding Paul's "Broadway-show."
LOL. Since I started the thread let me say one more thing. My main point which is what you and a few others understood is that changes should be made to keep from having all tours seem the same. I am one of those people who believe variety is the spice of life. I am also a person who believes you can be a huge fan but still criticize the artist also at times. I don't think any of my suggestions were mean spirited and I think I sparked a few people to add some of their "complaints". I think your comment about Paul's "Broadway" show is so true, everything is so scripted for the most part like a Broadway show. Finally, I will defend you on this board because I know you love Paul McCartney the artist not just Paul McCartney the Beatle. Stay true to your beliefs and convictions in life and never waiver even if people give you a hard time !!
-
I love all the rationalizing that goes on here! "They move people up front so Paul won't have to play to people he recognizes!" WHAAAAT???
-
Nope. They do it so people who can't afford those seats get to have the time of their life. I have no problem with that.
-
How do you know they can't afford it? Maybe they are just a casual fan who want to attend and pay a low price and be up in the stands enjoying the show. That's just as likely.
