Nancy R, wasn't that revelation a real jaw dropper on "Secrets & Lies" the English married couple are half-brother and half-sister? Day-ummm, sure wasn't expecting that startling twist Impressive that Ben trotted over to apologize to them through a window. He must be pretty doggone liberal and tolerant, LOL. Well, the couple had suffered so much and in a similar way, losing a son. I wish I'd seen the show when Ben's wife found out the murdered boy is his son, I bet she threw down a ton of enraged hostile hissy fits (what happened when she discovered this?). Sure adds to Ben's torment that the dead child was his own son. Must say I'm impressed with Ryan Phillipe's acting in this. Had previously considered him mainly just a pretty boy star. He's got chops. Everybody's produced effective acting jobs--the tone is quite intense, and seldom lets up. Very intense mysterious thriller. I hope it's done well in the ratings, it deserves it.

Just watched HAWKING on PBS. It's about the life of Stephen Hawking and his theories. It was very enjoyable!! I found out he lives in Cambridge...
You would like the movie The Theory Of Everything with Eddie Redmayne as Hawking (he won an Oscar)

The wife didn't really freak out too much I don't think (you should try to watch the show on your computer) as she knew he had had a one-night stand with her. Yeah, that was wild about the doctor and his wife! Watch here: http://abc.go.com/shows/secrets-and-lies

I don't watch any TV show that has an Eigenmann on it. And I boycott TV networks that has a contract with an Eigenmann. Enough said.

I did see that as soon as it came out, also heard the Benjamin Cumberbatch movie was good as well! the real Hawking was the best, with his wife as well... So inspirational
-
I watched the series Ancient Aliens. I thought it made a lot sense.

Nancy R:

A human being.
-
Look forward to guilty pleasure American Idol tonight. Especially seeing and hearing Clark Beckham again. He really loses himself in his songs, can play piano and guitar as well, and sings wonderfully--is so handsome too, with Ronan Farrow lips

My main TV stopped working...

Its the box...the cable man never came with the new box I have 2 Sony's HD and it's the one in the kitchen.... how I wish it would work, so I could listen while I work.... Just have been watching BBC series called Poldark. It takes place in Cornwall in the 1800's, gorgeous scenery and Aiden Turner is not bad on the eyes either He plays a good honest man...ignoring his snobby acquaintances, and overcoming many obstacles, gets right in there working with the "help" trying to do the right, honest and decent thing, despite the tongue wagging upper class. Was thinking how rare it is for there to be such a person in real life!! If you get a chance, and like period pieces from England, this one is a great one!

Nothing all that much worthwhile on tv lately. Hoping for some good movies....

Does anyone here like Big Bang Theory?

Does anyone here like Big Bang Theory?
No. It is like sticking my fingers down my throat and trying to make myself puke. I try to avoid it whenever possible. That is about as mild as I can say that one. Sorry.

I came here to delete my last post and then see that it got a reply. I have a tough time watching most Sit-com type of shows. The laugh tracks turn me away quickly. If it is a comedy and I don't laugh or grin or find amusement of some kind - Even some nodding of the head that I get it, Junior High humor turns me off When used by sit-coms ... ? there are exceptions .... But not many. On some of these shows I have to Change the channel or leave the room If someone wants to watch it ... Usually before my gray matter melts. I won't sit there and make comments they can watch all they want.... I know it is just me and so I leave the room ... Even when I visit someone.

I think it's that way for most people... Isn't it? I feel that way for most reality shows... My eyes can roll backward into my head...and my head starts to hurt! Especially the ones where they make fun of people, or act clique like Talk about grey matter melting... Watching mean people has no entertainment value for me, whatsoever... Reminds me of the Bruce Springsteen song 57 Channels and Nothing On... Missed my new fav show Poledark a British drama series based in Cornwall in the 1700's. An excellent show!
