Musical based around the songs of Wings

As long as it's not about the lead singer looking for a missing master tape.
I can wait another day for that one.

Indeed. A musical like that would have no values.

Just singing No words ??

I'm thinking most producers will exhaust most things Beatles-related before they tap into Wings.... and then, it will be predictably called "Band on the Run: The Musical", and I imagine it will be a re-telling of Jailhouse Rock... would be cool if it started at Paul's incarceration in Japan and then was told retrospectively. But that won't happen.
Too bad, because that is a great idea!

No matter what a Wings musical was about, it would definitely be called Band on the Run. Unless someone who really liked the band, rather than a producer looking for his next hit, put it together.

When you consider the success of the musicals We will rock you and Mama mia. How great would a musical based around the songs of Wings be. A musical about a world were people have had enough of Silly Love songs and a band on the run that have not had enough.
As a fan of Broadway musicals, my response would be please don't do it !! The last thing Broadway or London theater needs is another "Juke box" musical. These type of shows for the most part are lame as they try to create some story around the songs. All you had to see is shows like "Good Vibrations" (Beach Boys) and "Lennon" to appreciate how bad these things can turn out. IMO - It would only work if it was done as a biography story about McCartney and Wings. This worked with shows like "Jersey Boys" (Four Seasons) and "Dreamgirls" (based on the Supremes). These shows tell the story of the artist and the songs are played by actors playing the artist.

The only way to make that work, I think, would be to tell the story of Wings from Paul's original idea in 1971 to the Wings Over America tour in 1976. That would be a story of beating the odds, scraping along for respectability at first and eventually conquering the world. The story after that is just a letdown, plotwise. It needs a big ending, and it just didn't get bigger than 1976. (In London, it could end with "Mull of Kintyre," I suppose.)
