'Hope For The Future':
And once again, a bit more rehearsing needed, haha. (Why can we STILL not embed YouTube links?!)That sounded ok live. I wonder if this is just a one off for the opening of this leg of the tour. I guess we'll find out tomorrow night
Unlike "On My Way To Work" performed for the U.S. opener, "Hope..." used stage theatrics (video) and special lighting. I'd be surprised if it is a "one off".

So did "(I Want To) Come Home."

Really? I thought it was performed only once or twice in 2009. I'd love to be wrong.

The whole of the Good Evening Europe leg in December 2009. And boy, that was something! His first gigs in Europe in 7,5 years for many countries.

The usual setlist complaints aside...Did anyone actually see the show last night? Any reports, reviews?

The MaccaReport has a few lines about the soundcheck and the concert. Seems he messed up the intro on "Blackbird" and originally said "All Together Now" was from Sgt.Pepper before correcting himself later. Said he spoke a little Japenese to the crowd, one or two words for the most part. The soundcheck songs seemed to be to be the usual but noticed he did do "Big Barn Bed" again. It was noted that his voice was good but his upper falsetto was a little rough during soundcheck of "Queenie Eye" and "big Barn Bed". Nothing was said but I am curious how well he did "Maybe I'm Amazed" after the SNL performance of the song.

I wasn't at the show but I've heard it. His voice sounded tired to me. He messed up on "Can't Buy Me Love" as well. The performance of "Hope for the Future" lacked energy and Abe aided Paul a lot. Paul just sounded tired and croaky throughout the show to be quite honest. The set changes were nice but the over all energy wasn't there even from the crowd... That's just my impression from a rather excellent sounding audience recording

I haven't listened to it all but he was weak on Maybe Im Amazed again. And yes he did sound tired. Maybe he'll get warmed up after a few shows.

If I recall, Osaka in 2013 was pretty lacklustre both the shows and audience. Wasn't it there where Paul walked out and the audience didn't even stand? I think I saw some You Tube clips...might be mistaken but the Tokyo shows, each of them were magnificent, as was the crowd reaction.

Like noted from the various snippets during the "setlist watch" there were a few mishaps, but nothing shocking. The flubs in the lyrics to 'The Long And Winding Road', 'Can't Buy Me Love', 'Lovely Rita'. I now had some tasters from the rest of the gig, and boy, apart from the black sheep throwaway 'Save Us', the combo MMT, 'Can't Buy Me Love' and 'Jet' must be one of the most impressive openings yet. For the rest, the pre-chorus of 'Hope For The Future' with bum notes all over the place both the first and second time (finally getting it right during the solo). A tiiiiiiiiiny guitar flub at 'Blackbird', really nitpicking to even mention it. Not everyone ready for intro 'Back In The USSR'. And that really doesn't tarnish the impact of his show while you are there. It's live! That's why fan reports of people actually in the venue are always good to read. And yes: "The next song is from the Sgt Pepper's album. .... No it isn't, I tell a lie, it's from the 'Yellow Submarine' album. Close..." And then: "Now THIS song is from the Sgt Pepper's album" before 'Lovely Rita'. Then, for 'Mr. Kite", "THIS song is from ..." 'Can't Buy Me Love' in that fantastic 2009 arrangement: the intro broken down. Not those tasty Rusty licks during the last verse, though! Pretty strong "waaaay"'s on opener 'Magical Mystery Tour', which sometimes are painful on what are considered as great nights. Same counts for intro 'Live And Let Die'. Climax 'Band On The Run' as well, just as it is for years. 'Maybe I'm Amazed' as it's sounding for about 10 years now. 'Helter Skelter' not Sandy (no pun, no pun, the 12/12/12-benefit!)-strong, but he hit the big note both times. So no drama, it's just from which perspective you are seeing it. In general it seemed like always anyway - I experienced this with him myself in Cologne '09, after a few gigs in a row and a party night in Paris - after a busy time: bit less focused, rough notes here and there, but as always giving his all. It's never all bad and all perfect. At the end of the day the show stand like no other, and I assure you the people present didn't spell it out like we are/I am doing now.

"LTWTMS" was dropped from this leg. But, you never know what Paul may add or drop at any given show.

I've read reviews from a few Korean fans who couldn't wait til his first show in Seoul so went to Osaka show. One of them said he was all energetic and sounded even better than the last time he played Japan in '13. The guy was impressed. But hearing it on recording would create a different perspective. Maybe he was just on cloud nine that he's seeing Paul again. Who knows

I just wrote a whole bit about all that above...

Also, nice multi-angle with proper AUD sound of 'Hope For The Future':
