FLEETWOOD MAC - ON WITH THE SHOW
-
I've been on and off with Fleetwood Mac. A friend of mine who is more of a blues and country man played early Mac records with Peter Green on guitar quite a lot when we were younger and used to sit and listen to records together more often. "Rumours" is a good pop album with some fantastic songs. Many catchy songs with the Buckinghman / Nicks version, although I might not play studio albums often. I've never seen Fleetwood Mac live, but I would like to, it's a legendary band, not sure if they have played in Norway. If they did, I missed it.

Dreams (1977):

Was watching some video of their March 28th Show #71 Kansas City Concert earlier. Very Found this 1982 White Winged Dove Tour Final night performance of Stevie's It evolves into absolute perfection...
-
^^ nice Stevie Nicks concert. Rhiannon ( my favorite version 1976):
-
^ Listened to that twice...that's a good original one

I am in the process of watching a documentary about them on YouTube. Very interesting hearing about the relationship dynamics from the members. It's amazing that they were able to do what they did in the face of it.

A new book is out on Stevie Nicks. Stevie Nicks: Visions Dreams & Rumours by Zoë Howe. Actually I'd like to read Patti Smith's book (on Smith's rock n' roll life and times) even more than Stevie's. I wish Macca would update his autobio written by Barry Miles, continuing on from where they left off.

Stevie fell while dancing at the Seattle show I saw.
-
When Stevie recently told about her abortion and that it was Don Henley's baby, I felt that was TMI--do you agree? Such a sad intimate personal thing.
-
I was rather innocent about rock music back then...didn't think Fleetwood Mac took drugs ( ), didn't think the Fabs had groupies... :

Happy Birthday to Stevie And Rhiannon Are Heavenly!!! ...May 26th. An Angel/Messenger of Love and Welsh Wizardette all rolled up in one. Just Love Her!!!
-
Happy Birthday Stevie Nicks!!! Rock on Gold Dust Woman!
-
Really like Fleetwood Mac pre Buckingham/Nicks although Rumours & Tusk excellent albums.

I'm really a bit enthralled with the new book about Stevie. She comes across very well in it, not at all vain or not compared with many divas--she thinks mostly of the music, writing songs, performing to connect with the audience and make them feel. She started out that way, and continued. A true artist. I don't always like her voice, but when in the mood she sounds so strong, stirring, stimulating to me. Her lyrics are rather poetic, not Keats and Shelley poetic, but Stevie poetic....the combination of kind of New Age seeming lyrics and that very strong voice is striking.

People who work with Stevie Nicks seem to have nice things to say about her. Younger people like Adele and Taylor Swift love her. Vanessa Carlton even let Stevie marry her.
-
I think that One Direction guy Harry Stiles went backstage at a Stevie performance recently and gave her a cake or something (?)--

I love Tusk. I especially love USC marching band in this video:
* I am exactly the same height as Stevie Nicks and I like being that way. Christine McVie is looking as beautiful as ever, even prettier than the 1970's. Two lovely ladies.
