Sir Elton John Thread

I mentioned it somewhere on the board, but the psychedelic chandelier Elton has on stage is so groovy. I first though it looked like many things, but now I am quite sure it is Ezekial's wheel. You have to see it in person. So I missed his concerts in my area 2015 due to unforeseen circumstances, but before I die I simply must see him again. Love his Band! This morning "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" came to mind:
Peace and Love! * and I wanted to mention that Elton's last album "The Diving Board" produced by T Bone Burnett didn't even get a nomination at The Grammy Awards? That says a lot about the legitimacy of the Grammy's and why I don't watch it anymore. Jmo. But I am sure Elton can live with it all. Well I don't know if it was nominated? Can't find it. He didn't win. -
I just read on Elton John's website that after 4,000 shows he is slowly "bringing the curtain down" on his performances to spend more time with his children and husband. You can read it if you go to his site. Anyway, I hope I can see him perform again, but I admire that he has his priorites in order. He can afford to retire and maybe do shows every now and then if he needs more money. I mean, how much money do you need to be happy? You can't take money with you. Love Sir Elton!

When I am sad or worrying this song comforts me: Little Jeanie ( live Central Park 1980)
Thank you Elton for all your music and good deeds. Love! -
Rarely played Elton John non-stop on my stereo but there are plenty of songs I enjoy when I hear them. I think he had a very good period in the 70s, maybe he still make great records, for the 'insiders'... I don't follow his career like the McCartney. I have some records and I think "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is a great studio album and "Very Best of" has many of his greatest hits. Pretty much what I need for in my collection.

I recently read Elton's next tour is called The Final Curtain, or something like that. So...I KNOW I will be going to at least one of those shows one way or another! Just found this cool video that combines Elton and NASA: Rocketman:

EHJI think so too. I went to Las Vegas last April to see his show, very fancy stage and costumes and he's so cute, he's gained weight, even more like a teddy bear. Several times he stopped the show to speak. He said that now, right now in his life he has never been so happy. His family, his 2 children & his marriage have done this for him. Made me tear up, he's always putout music to cheer up other people it's great that he has finally found it for himself.

Here is the "Looking Up" groovy video from Sir Elton John:
Love it so much!️ Elton's Final Curtain Tour in the USA begins in Mobile, Alabama on March 15, 2016. I think 5 more dates follow it before he goes back to Vegas or abroad later in 2016. If anyone has not seen him in concert it could be your last chance. He wants to spend more time with his family, as his boys are growing so quickly!️ Peace and Love and Rock and Roll!️ -

I saw Sir Elton John and Band in concert in Mobile, Alabama. It was a Wonderful Crazy Night! 2.5 hours of pure Heaven. The Band was amazing. Love all of them. Sir Elton was in top form and in all truth his voice never faltered. (Contrary to Piers Morgan's opinion on the subject, whom I still cannot understand his English.) Towards the end I was right at the stage for the last 4 songs, and got to see Sir Elton and Band CLOSE up. It was amazing! Love and Peace! ️️ At one point I could see Elton's eyes looking over his glasses while he was playing the piano and you could see the piano keys reflected in his glasses! Then he was standing on the stage right in front of me to sign things. He is so beautiful! *my phone battery died during the first few songs. But I wouldn't have taken photos at the stage cause I would rather enjoy the experience. Priceless!️

Currently on holiday in USA, and have just come back seeing Sir Elton John at Caesars Palace Las Vegas for his Million Dollar Piano show. What a fantastic concert, Elton was on fine form, in great voice, interacted a lot between songs and the stage design was spectacular. Got to hear 5 tunes for the first time. A great venue hope one day he can bring this show to the UK. This is what he played; The Bitch is Back Bennie and the Jets Rocket Man Levon Tiny Dancer Your Song Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters Better off Dead Indian Sunset Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny) Goodbye Yellow Brick Road I guess thats why they call it the blues Don't let the sun go down on me Philadelphia Freedom I'm Still Standing Crocodile Rock Saturdays Nights Alright for fighting Circle of Life

I saw Elton John at Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv last month. It was in a large field, probably where Paul played when he went there a few years ago. It was in a field, so it was SRO, but we were close to the stage. With 40,000 people, I'm sure the seats in the back were not so great. It was a great show and it started just as the sun was going down, which looked amazing from the park. I'm not the biggest Elton John fan, so I liked the setlist - almost all 1970s classics. If Paul did that, his fans would cringe and tell him to retire, but the Elton fans at this show seemed to love it.

Saw Elton and the band the other night in Liverpool, went with a little trepidation in regards to his voice, its not as it once was thats for sure but once he warmed up he was fine seemingly having a lot of fun. Over 2 and a half hours was good going for most half his age but like a trooper he sailed on happily enough, the songs of the new album are very good in my view on par with '80's elton and his output from that period its a fine album one i enjoy listening too. So first time seeing him and id go again though i suspect he feels the end is in sight but we will see if he where to come around again yes i'd happily go again.
