My Uncles Copy Of McCartney

His very first solo album with the bowl of cherries on its cover, was fortunate, a friend played that all the time. It's lovely and breezy and free wheeling...intimate...casual perfection

Hey Rhonda! I was at three of the concerts you were at! (and my answer is McCartney as well)

I do remember my first solo album by Paul! "Band on the Run"! I loved every song! It was impossible for me to determine the best one!

Pipes of Peace on vinyl in 1983. I wore that record out - absolutely loved it. I remember hearing So Bad on the radio a lot, and seeing the video for Say, Say, Say constantly. Then I went through a time when I considered POP to be his absolute low point. And now I'm back to liking it again. Those early 80's sounds don't sound as dated to me anymore, for some reason. I especially like side one of the record. My 2nd album was Tug of War on cassette. Not long after that, it was off to the cinema to see GMRTBS, with the Frog Song as an opener. I think there were only 5 people in the theatre, haha!!! And I'm quite sure that I was the only one loving the movie. I distinctly remember somebody saying it was the worst movie they had ever seen, as they were leaving the theatre. But I loved every minute of it. Good memories.

I remember quite well this pair of albums to have been delivered to our students' hostel as the new works by Paul..... The albums were recorded on the cassette, but of good quality... Great music! Great Paul!

I prefered "Pipes of Peace" to "Tug of War" when it came out. Now I considert TOW stronger overall but it's still a nice pair of pop albums to mye ars. I never thought they sounded extremely 80s, there's only hints of those characteristics with the synth drums bombast that peaked cicra 1984-87. Anwyays, it's just the sound of a decade. A production sound. In the early 90s, with Nirvana and Pearl Jam and the new raw and basic approach to making records, the 80s got a bad reputation, but it doesn't make any sense anymore with the pop production nowadays, which is like the 80s on a widescreen.

My first Paul solo album was Wings Greatest. I bought it on cassette in Woolworths in Oban, Scotland when I was on holiday there in August 1987. It was in the sale and I was looking for some new music to listen to on my walkman. I was bowled over by Band on the Run and Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey. That tape started me on a journey from someone who liked the odd Paul single (always loved Coming Up) to the person I am today.

Mine was the McCartney--the first solo album. Still love those old songs?.been there from the beginning. Although, I remember when Band on the Run came out and I swear it was the album that changed my life??.I was in high school and it's the music of my youth.

VENUS AND MARS was my introduction to his solo albums. I remember absolutely loving "Rock Show" and "Listen To What The Man Said" - though nearly all the songs are wonderful.
