Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

But he had trouble selling out a small venue in Rio last year. so I wonder how will he fill Maracana?
Not true. Let's look at the big picture: there were 14,800 people in Rio, which means that at least 90% of the available tickets were sold at the highest prices ever charged here. He also did 4 other huge stadium concerts in the same month in 3 other cities not too far away from one another (Vitória, Brasília and São Paulo) and all of them were either sold out or almost. Total attendance of the 5 Brazilian shows: 184,800 tickets sold. Paul and Mr. Marshall both know that he will never have a hard time selling tickets in Brazil, as fans across the country (and from other South American countries) will buy them. That's one of the main reasons why he keeps coming back. My marketing strategy would be to open the next tour in Rio with two sold-out concerts at the Maracanã stadium. Great publicity for him and a pretty good way to begin a world tour with 100,000 happy fans.

I don't think the Rolling Stones are coming. At least this year. http://www.popload.com.br/xiii-rolling-stones-desiste-de-vir-ao-brasil-e-frustra-a-turne-do-ano/
...I would rather have him play in Australia in november and come to South America next year with a new tour and a different setlist. He has brought the Out There tour to us three times already.

Well, I would sure go. Still not sure he would sell 100,000 tickets in Rio.

There's only one way to find out Meanwhile, last year the rumors of the November concerts began in late August, so I guess we've still got a few more weeks of silence before anything new comes out.

Any new stadia under construction there?

from what I hear, no plans for Paul in SA at this time and thwe Rolling Stones are no longer playing there this fall either . Apparently the money problems may be the reason. Time will tell... Still hearing nothing in the pipeline right now so if you can hit PETA or Lollapalooza, you might want to

Always appreciate these updates, brother. Thanks.

My completely uninformed gut is that after Lolla (I don't consider PETA a concert as much as a private fundraiser) Macca is going to be done for 2015. He has alot of interests so he has to figure out how to divide his time. We know he is working on the High in the Clouds animated movie. He mentioned he didn't need to write any new songs because he had so many left over from NEW that he needs to finish. So maybe a new album is in the works. I'm thinking he may be done touring for 2015 and comes back in 2016 with a new show. (or at least a new tour name) probably along with a new album and a movie. RamblinRed

Sure looks like it Red ! It's not a bad thing by any stretch.

That sounds reasonable. I am not sure how much more of OUT THERE tour he can do. It has been two years running. It's starting to be like a Broadway show!!

That's what Paul is doing next--starring in The Phantom Of The Opera!

I thought that's what the current tour was!

Say it ain't so, Joe! I haven't seen Paul this year yet!
-
Never know Javilu, we'll see how he feels after August vacation. It could be a good thing to do a new album , work on other projects ( high in the clouds, archives) and then come back with a new tour name and rested. But I heard that the monetary issues that made the Stones move might also steer other major acts from booking new shows until it's all fixed

Maybe he will finally come to OZ! It will bbe coming in to our summer and its about bloody time! Elton, fleetwood Mac, Robbie, Neil Diamond, Ed Sheeran (again), ACDC all due to come between Nov-Dec so amybe Dec or Jan for Paul??

With the way his hair is, he will be playing Christine?
-
If he didn't go back to Oz in connection with 2 different Japan trips than I would tend to doubt that is going to happen

Traditionally he's a November or March guy. I'd accept next week though.
