If you could make home anywhere, where would you live?

Thanks, wrote that one down...In my case it would be big or many, not little... I've found that if you ask a French person, do they speak English, or Spanish...they seem to jump to English... This has worked well over asking someone if they speak just English, from which my limited experience doesn't work well... And have been yelled at!

I don't think I ever asked anyone in France if they spoke English. I always tried to speak to them in French. Most would respond faster than I could hear. I needed subtitles, but even then, they would have gone by too quickly to read. Some people just naturally responded in English. They must have assumed that I spoke English since my French was so épouvantable.

I now have an app that I can speak into my phone in English, and set it up to repeat in another language! Even Mandarin Chinese, however, I bet that one is off some...

^^ apps can get people in trouble L2T. How is the house flipping going at the beach?

I want to go to the New England seaside to write for two weeks. Maybe Rockport. Haven't decided where, yet.

I just saw the guy today actually. Going to give him a call after the holidays. Well the app helped me buy a bottle of water from a guy who didn't speak English!

Where my cat would let me hold her.

Good L2T. I used to love Montana. Big Sky country. Would be nice to live there in the USA.

I've never seen anything that works with Chinese, especially the voice programs. The tones are just too subtle for a computer.

There is one called iTranslate Voice, that translates Cantonese, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. You speak in English and it speaks in the chosen language you choose. It also has Chinese characters. I imagine it's not perfect tho. I worked in Portuguese, but not perfectly.

In a nice house with a yard where it was quiet love doris

I read about a lady who lived on a nice cruise ship and traveled all over the world. She had a deluxe ocean view cabin. Wondering if one would ever get tired of pulling into ports all over the world on a regular basis...shows every night, interesting things to do, lectures and classes, dancing, music, quiz nights, crafts every day, all types of food, excursions to exotic locals, eating breakfast on your balcony over the ocean, lunch on deck, with after swim and jacuzzi, and dinner with a lively group of interesting people...

That would be great, but cost a small fortune! On second thought, it would probably be cheaper than assisted living!!

Yes, definitely cheaper than assisted living!!! Just read about her again. She lives in a top of the line cruise ship.... I bet it would be a fun thing to do if you love to travel http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2015/01/19/woman-pays-164k-per-year-to-live-on-luxury-cruise-ship/22030011/

What she pays is much more than assisted living. It runs from about $3500 to $5000+ per month. She is paying $13,666/month!

Amen Doris! It's fun to dream a little too, no? Today I would love to live in the Peña Fairyland Castle! That place is amazingly whimsical

Some remote part of northern Canada where there wasn't another human being for 1000 miles in any direction.

The best one I've seen confuses 你好嗎 with 妮豪馬. One means "how are you". It's the single most common greeting. The other means "cute brave horse". Not something you're likely to talk about that often.
