Most terrifying experience of your life..

I have a few terrifying experiences in my life....but I'm certain being in the midst of an earthquake would be very terrifying. Two experiences I had was beyond my control: a gun being held to my face from an ex and being in the midst of the 9/11 attacks and watching all the lives that were taken away that day in full view. I live across the river from where the twin towers once stood. But a terrifying experience I just recently encountered was in my control. I just recently came back from Puerto Vallerta Mexico a few weeks ago and I decided to go "extreme" zip lining. Mind you, I've never done it before. But just imagine going on 11 zip lines over the Canopy River in Puerto Vallerta where the highest point was approx. 62 stories high and the longest zip line length was 1/4 mile long. I feared that day of falling. But I took it upon myself to do it (11 different heights); so I have no one to blame but myself. It was scarey but there was no way around it other than to do all the zip lines. It was quite a feat. Had my eyes closed most of the time. However, I did hold on to dear life. Would I do it again?? Not too sure. Lol. My other greatest fear is drowning. Probably why I've never gone on a cruise ship. I've gone on many skiffs, canoes, fishing, party and tour boats; but never a ship. Go figure lol!
I would not zip line, bungie jump or sky dive for a million dollars!! I have a terrible fear of heights. Couldn't stand (at the rail) by the edge of the Grand Canyon for more than 15 seconds (just to have my pic taken) There were people sitting on this rock face and kids running around where there was NO railing!! Now although I'm not a strong swimmer, I love cruises. I get motion sickness, but I had no problems on the huge Oasis and Allure of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) You are probably in a lot more danger canoeing or kayaking.

Returning home after a cousin's wedding & discovering a neighbor that I didn't know all that well in my house watching over my father. My mother had a massive heart attack outdoors & when another neighbor discovered her & called 911 while another neighbor attempted to give her CPR, it was too late. She was in the hospital in a coma for 2 1/2 months before she passed away without ever regaining consciousness. My father had dementia & passed away 6 months later.

(see above) (shudders) I'm sorry, Gypsy, you really went through it and, I'm sure, came out stronger on the other side, like others on this theme. It hurts so much more to see your loved ones suffer than for you yourself to endure what they had to endure, I find.

I'd bungee for a million, sky dive for half a million and zip line for $25,000.

Wouldn't that be great if someone would pay that. I love zip lining! They have a cool 7 zip lines over the jungle in Jamaica I will probably sky dive or bungee jump! Want to go on that glass horseshoe over the Grand Canyon too! Now that...I might wind up crawling around the horseshoe on my knees Found terror while in a tent with a bear right outside the tent...could feel his footsteps....in Yellowstone also when I fell out of a white water raft and popped up right in front of a whirlpool I'M ALIVE!!

A zip line over the Grand Canyon might be too much.
