"Imagine" Sung for Pope
-
If I believed The Bible to be taken literally in all it's content, then all of the human beings who died before Jesus Christ was crucified would be burning in Hell, or just not exist in any form. And I would have to believe only Christians could go to Heaven. I don't believe that. I believe there was a Jesus and there is a God in some form. But a true God would not deny entrance to an afterlife based on religious affiliation. I am spiritual. I believe in the Golden Rule as known in a compassionate heart. I read the Bible. But I don't believe I have to believe in a certain religion or I go to Hell.

RMartinez:
I worship God, not the bible. Jesus never said "Only the bible hold's God's truth." As a Catholic Christian I look to the bible for guidance, but I look to other sources too. Unquestioning blind faith leads people to eventually fly airplanes into buildings. I have no use for that. I listen and read and question and make sure what is being presented is balanced and reasonable. God gave me a mind with which to reason, question, and ponder. And make a free will decision. FAITH and REASON. That's what I'm into!
People worship God in many ways which is evident by all of the divided and denominationalized belief systems. Jesus however promoted True Worship, which implies that we be as conscientious and as objectively educated as possible. I have attended many different services at many different churches, but it wasn't until I took some classes with and attended a few seminars with a biblical research and teaching ministry that I began to understand the universal, common sense and non-denominational message of Jesus. You impress me as being inclined to be a True Worshipper RMartinez. Here is some of the discussion that Jesus had with the woman at the well. JOHN 4:23 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 19The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 25The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. "I am of the universe and you know what it's worth" " Yes, I'm lonely" ~ //oo\\ Lennon was half educatedly promoting True Worship and was taking flack from divided denominations for promoting the actual original truths of Jesus.

YOLO is "you only live once." SMH is "shaking my head." After that I am clueless. I don't text, and if I do I type out whole words.

MUYAPALBM Jude 1:2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

Being a True Worshipper allows one the freedom to celebrate the good things, and happy peaceful holidays, of all religions and their denominations. Most People are True Worshippers and don't completely realize it...it seems. May We Celebrate The Goodness In All!
-
I'd like to get every religion's holidays off, that's for sure.

Last night on the new limited series Childhood's End, there was a cover version of Imagine at the beginning of the show! Show is on SyFy and is based on an Arthur C. Clarke novel written in the '50s. It is so good!

You should start a thread so everyone can consolidate all of these references to Beatle related music in the media. I don't think there is one? You are easily one of the most qualified and biggest fans!

Thanks! I think there was one a long time ago. It just seems like practically every show I watch eventually had a Beatles reference/music!
