The thing is, in order to get the govt subsidy, you have to have a pretty low income (my son makes less than $20,000/year) The more you make the more you pay.

Been living on a shoe string, big devastating blows of the past few years, "the storms of life," made me feel too nervous and shook up to work--I feel like I'm emerging faster from that reign of terror now and think I'll be able to work again in the fairly near future. Am stronger than I think. I used to get so restless and want to be working, am waiting for that feeling to strike again! Living on dwindling savings probably will help with that
-
Glad to hear it
-
Susy thinking good thoughts for you. You are a survivor...
-
Make people pay to stay healthy seems barbaric to me.
-
I don't really want to buy much, which is good. It's distressing when an unexpected expense occurs...which absolutely has to be dealt with
-
No money and a serious shortage of it Is a big problem right now for me ... So it would be nice to have enough to Get rid of the big problems, small Problems and all the unexpected problems At the same time ... And maybe a bit more To know what it is like to be on the too Much money side for once

Have been reading the entire thread, loving the comments, thoughts about life, art, the economy, thinking, wishing I could afford health insurance, then realized after reading one comment we probably now CAN because my husband's contract ended in July, so we can probably afford O'Bama Care now if there is an open enrollment period. It's been a struggle for us, too, and age discrimination in certain professions is alive and well in our state. So, I've accepted I will not be able to get back into my field without moving. Won't do that again. I do what I do to get by because I am not confined to office politics, it's something new each day, and usually there is free time during the day to write or edit; however, lately it has been harder and harder to go in and accept such low pay for a day's work. Trying to solve that dilemma now without getting a greeter-at-Wal-Mart-type job. How much do I need? Enough to pay the bills, support our mini-schnauzers, and eat out occasionally.

Open enrollment starts Nov. 1st, but if you have a change in circumstances, such as not having a job/insurance any more (even if you quit) you can enroll anytime. I called them to see if I'd be eligible if I quit and took early retirement at 63 (in 3 years) and they said yes. https://www.healthcare.gov/

Thanks, Nancy. I saw that too right after posting. When we checked into it a couple years ago, my husband had a regular job and health ins. and my rates were going to be sky high. Hopefully, we will do better now.

$71. Haagen Dazs is on sale.

Maybe just 1000 pesos. I feel guilty when some musician that I follow on Twitter posts a gig schedule and I couldn't come because I don't have money.

How much is 1000 pesos in U.S. $? Less than $60? Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but you should have said at least $1 million pesos.

This year I got a 75 cents/hour merit raise, which was better than nothing!

Hoping for a raise come 2016

Congratulations. What are you going to do with all that extra money? I'd start looking at houses. Or maybe buy a donut.
