Continuing the Elon Musk theme... His new Tesla 3 car will only be $35,000. If you really want to see the car of the future, check out the Video about the Tesla 3 unveiling. It is stunning, innovative, and I hope to get a Tesla car in the future... You will too when you watch this. He is so modest, considering his accomplishments. If you like this, and haven't seen the TED talk above, please give a watch to our future... https://www.tesla.com/model3
From what I've read, the Tesla Model 3 can't do anything a Chevy Bolt can already do for the same price, and the Bolt is available now. Also, Tesla is apparently a horrible place to work: http://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-factory-workers-detail-grueling-conditions-fremont-2017-5

Geek magazine made it appear every household will soon have a life-sized human looking talking robot as a servant ! (LOL) While on the retro front, Polaroid-like instant cameras of various designs are having a comeback.
There are a number of Sci Fi movies that share that theme, AI and I Robot are a couple that come to mind. Robots currently in our homes...robot vacuums, robot window cleaners, robot lawn mowers, robot pool cleaners, Echo & Alexa or similar voice command intelligent personal assistants, that can turn lights on and off, let you speak to people at your door, from your phone (Ring), order things for you, send texts, check weather, play music, answer questions, check traffic and a whole host of other things. You might enjoy AI, it's quite interesting and I think pretty realistic in what may be coming down the pike. I Robot shows some negative consequences. The Chinese are working quite steadily on robots now, some are amazingly real and can answer many questions. Personally, I think China is going to take over world dominance in Science, with the reverse direction our current leader is leading us in. Sad, very sad. I may get a learn to speak Chinese disk set. It's pretty difficult to learn, but it may be a good one to have.

You put that very well Love2travel ... There are robots all around. I once worked with cameras and lasers that Were mounted on a robot arm. As a side note ... These arms are Dressed up and used in some Dinosaur exhibits - seemingly Bringing them to life... Also ... I have seen the arms programmed and someone dancing With the robot arms ... This creates an interest in them from the outside.... They are interesting without being "Dressed up" People don't think of them as robots If they don't look like the movie And television versions of them.

Why thank you Fool I look forward to many more robots. Wanted to add all of the many many robots in manufacturing. The robots in making cars at the Tesla factory, produce a car from rolls of aluminum, in three days! Hope they get that safety issue with the live people in check soon. Was sad to hear about it.

Actually not new technology, but new to me...Gyro Planes http://www.planeandpilotmag.com/article/gyroplanes-buyers-guide-2015/#.WYM4U3j3arU Like a Sycamore tree winged seed the rotar spins unlike a Helicopter, it gets its lift and spin from its dynamics. That means that an engine failure in a gyroplane is a nonevent. The craft will float down in autorotation like a parachute. A gyroplane flies in permanent autorotation. That virtue makes gyroplanes extraordinarily safe.

I wonder if the uber-rich can buy drone service to guard their palatial homes--have drones hovering 24/7 to record what's happening outside on their property--if bad guys showed up, the drones could attack them... which would cost millions, probably

Recently met an uber rich man who was telling me he has a security system which can see, even in the dark. He has cameras around his house and when activated by movement, the lights go on at night and he gets an alert on his phone. The cameras were like the RING doorbell, he could hear things happening at each camera and also speak to anyone at a specific camera. He showed me as his wife was going out to the garage and he spoke to her. Trying to find the piece of paper that I wrote the info on. It was so cool and not too expensive.

Those lucky Tesla new owners, it's a great deal...as the previous car was something like $80,000-100,000 You can meet me in your flying car...we can fly over some cool stuff together!!! There you go...
Here I go in my new ladybug Cavalon...I still have to paint the black dots on it... Meet you in the middle... -
That Cavalon is very cool!

That Cavalon is very cool!
I would love to fly one, seriously... It looks very safe too... much safer than a helicopter, so they say...Saw those flying parasails with the big round fans behind them...they looked pretty cool as well. I can imagine flying them over the Nazca plains... Elon Musk seems to prefer underground tho. He said he didn't think flying vehicles were the way to go, what if you lose a hubcap...I think he has a wheelie good point!!
-
Here's a cool video about them... Gyrocopters

"In both a mesmerizing and also somewhat unsettling display, a Chinese toy company successfully set a new world record for orchestrating the largest robot dance party ever. The incredible performance, which took place in the city of Guangzhou, China, featured a jaw-dropping 1,069 of the company's 'Dobi' robots dancing simultaneously."

Those Dobi robots are cute... I was expecting them to have a few different routines...the programming would have probably been a nightmare for that tho... They had some of Michael Jackson's moves!!!

This is so cool what Elon Musk is building this in Austrailia!! http://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/inventions/elon-musk-releases-mindboggling-video-of-futuristic-hyperloop-hitting-321kmh/news-story/fe44dc87f440a2ff7703fbcdbb142926 Those tunnels may be a good place for duck and cover too.
