Coconut Flour Pancakes, Green Tea
-
I wish they made Green Tea Jelly...am trying to quaff more green tea, both hot and iced, rather than copious mugs of coffee. Liked iced coffee too last summer. I saw coconut flour in the grocery store and wonder if you can make coconut pancakes. Will google that. Any Green Tea heads here? Have got so I prefer coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, even cashew milk to moo cow milk. Course it's more costly.

They do. You can make all kinds of jellies, puddings and cakes with 抹茶. You can make pancakes with coconut flour, but use a lot less flour and a lot more eggs. You also have to mix it very well.

Thank yew. They have "Brown Rice Flour" at the store too, our local Food Lion is getting downright Yuppie, for a small town! How about Brown Rice pancakes? You live in exotic Hong Kong, don't you? It's funny but to the natives there, it's not exotic at all, it's just ordinary Seems ironic.

No place is exotic to the locals, but every place is exotic to someone. The country where you live is a giant mystery to much of the world. Rice flour is a lot better than coconut flower, in my opinion. I mostly use actual flour, but I'll sometimes use rice flour. It's better for cookies and cakes than heavy things like bread and pizza.

Thanks for the tips ! Imagine: Green Tea Ice Cream...should be sweetened with Truvia or something, LOL We can't get Tofu around here...

One reason I write about nutrition is my sister was diagnosed with a rather serious disability, and I'm trying to get more nutrients and vitamins in her, to help. Need to get her more interested in this subject. At one point, she seemed to teeter on the edge of potential anorexia.

Food is so complicated. They throw so much additives into processed foods that plain veggies don't taste good by comparison. Why do we need natural flavors in everything?
-
Green Tea Pudding instead of Figgy Pudding, LOL

Susy, you should talk to doctors about health issues. People online are the last place anyone should go to for medical advice. Except that medical advice. Green tea ice cream is pretty common. Even Haagen Dazs makes some. A great way to avoid additives is to make your own food. I know exactly how much sugar is in my cookies because I'm the one who put it there. The answer is 1 cup, by the way.

I hope I get into cooking to the extent you do, Hailey McComet and make all our health food fare homemade from scratch but it seems so difficult for me to go completely veggie that having the frozen veggie "meat" products is a help. To get started again after relapses. They even have "Sweet and Sour (fake) Pork Bites." Sort of like veggie BBQ. Soy cheese really tastes terrible, at least that certain variety of it does. A friend gave us a box of Whitman's Sugar Free Chocolates and also a box of the regular sweet Whitman's chocolates, and unfortunately, the genuine sugar-laden pieces taste much better than the sugar free ones. But I have come across a lot of sugar free candies which were actually pretty tasty.

I used to bake a lot when I was younger, but then I moved into a tiny apartment without a kitchen. There was just a burner big enough for a wok, and a toaster oven. I had to learn how to make everything small. Cakes became cupcakes, that sort of thing. Then I moved into an apartment with a real kitchen and starting baking like crazy. All of my tiny recipes got bigger and I could use more ingredients. It's amazing what you can do with an oven. I don't know much about frozen vegetarian food, but I assume it has more salt and sugar than it would if you made it yourself. Most frozen food is loaded with preservatives and salt. Everything has at least a pinch of salt, but if you make it yourself, you can control how big that pinch is.

There's a town in N.C. called "Barbecue" and it has a "Barbecue Presbyterian Church." Ought to be renamed "Veggie Barbecue" (the town) and the church, "Veggie Barbecue Presbyterian Church" : They really, really like their BBQ in N.C., unfortunately. Ironically and appallingly I briefly considered topping my veggie burger with meat hot dog chili I found in two small containers in the freezer. Sort of defeating the purpose. ops:

Do they take communion with hot sauce?
-
I like green tea, except that tea stains your teeth

Ha ha, Hailey...hot but not as hot as hell... I made whole grain French toast with blueberry sugar free syrup and butter substitute, veggie sausage patties, and peach mango hot green tea. Also tried green apple green tea. Gonna make cheese and cranberry health food pancakes, with veggie bacon.

New product: "Hot dog flavored Pringles" Should be: "Veggie Hot Dog Flavored Pringles"

Ugh--McDonald's is coming out with "chocolate coated French fries." They tested and youths indicated they'd like to eat that salty and sweet "delicacy" while older demographics said they'll decline this particular "treat."
-
Salted chocolate can be great, but McDonald's is horrible. I wouldn't feed it to a dog. I'd only feed it to rats if I had a rat problem.

I know--McDonalds French fries suck, and just about everything on their cheaper menu and some of their more expensive fare (for $5.00, LOL) too. I don't understand why so many flock to McDonalds. It does have free Wifi, though Free internet If only they still had their Veggie burger (from long ago)--it was tasty and you could feel virtuous 'cause it was veggie.

You'd think everywhere would have free wifi these days.
