Coconut Flour Pancakes, Green Tea

I see that Elvis cookbooks are a thing (laughs). They're not diet cookbooks, to say the least. They tell how to make his fave, fried "Peanut Butter and banana sandwiches." You could eat even those, I guess, if you ate one-third of the sammy over three days' time.
-
I like low carb cherry chocolate chip ice cream. It's low sugar but I have to remember it's high fat. I love coffee ice cream, but can't find any around here that's low sugar. We always eat a ton of no sugar added popsickles in the summertime. I love fried okra and fried squash, also stewed, with onions. I love tomato sandwiches in the summer. Refreshing and cools you off. Supposed to be an active hurricane season this year (on top of everything else), I'm apprehensive about that. I found out cherries are low carb fruit, I love cherries, peaches and strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pineapple, frozen red grapes
-
I bought a new kind of nut butter made of seven different kinds of nuts. Sort of good, but I still prefer pecan butter, cashew butter and almond butter made of just the one nut. And walnut butter. I had some "oat chocolate milk" made from oats, very tasty and I hope to find more of it.
-
I'm sorry, but I wish I had some fried chicken livers and fried oysters...at least I consume the latter dish only two or three times a year
-
Fried onion sandwiches in whole grain pita wraps or sourdough, some kind of fancy bread...yummy

Hi Susy, just saw some of your posts that I wanted to comment on. If you're still doing green tea, there is Organic STeaz zero calorie Iced Green Tea, Peach Mango is my favorite, as well as Dragonfruit. Stevia is the sweetner. Another low calorie favorite is BAI Anti Oxident Infusions. They have 15 packs in Costco. During the summers they have lemonade variety pac with Strawberry, Blueberry and Blackberry. Some other favorites are Mango, Cherry, Blueberry, Coconut Pineapple, Watermelon. Only 10 calories sweetened by Erytritol and Stevia. These are really good!
I have been doing the intermittent fast lifestyle, up until the lockdown an I really enjoyed it. 8/16. So thats eating in an 8 hour period and fasting for 16 hours with only water, teas or coffee. So I woke up and had only coffee. For me I liked eating between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. You can have 3 meals in that time, however, I cut out breakfast. Would start with dinner, because of the fast, I was hungry! That kept me satisfied for most of the day. Had healthy snacks and then a lunch like dinner. It's pretty easy to do and it makes a lot of sense. The partial fast is good for your body!

Those different flavors of green tea sound really good ! Stevia is good. Maybe I can order these online as we don't have Costco anywhere near. Thanks for the tip, LovesTotravel, I especially feel intrigued by the prospect of Dragonfruit and Mango green tea's, and cherry's one of my fave flavors too. Watermelon green tea, yum. Which are your favorites?
I too feel intermittent fasting does a body good. Well, it does for me. As you say IF gives your organs, digestive system a rest and in my case it lowers my often too high blood sugar. It saves time and money. It's reputed to slow aging. A host of benefits can result. I try not to eat anything in between my one or two meals daily unless it's just to nibble a few bites. I have to eat something to take my meds. Fairly often, I'll have one somewhat substantial meal in the afternoon and then just a few bites later on. I don't have breakfast. This has to be a lifestyle change for me and not just a quickie "diet"
You can lose flab slowly but steadily with this method. I try to be aware of not too much protein and refined carbs, to use portion control and swap out dodgy items with better fare. And eat slowly and consciously. I used to keep a food journal but tired of it but need to start it up again.
-
This is my favorite green tea, there are lots of flavors you can Google. This is in your health food section.
The BAI Antioxidant Infusion comes in several different 15 pak combinations. My favorite is the lemonaid pak which is only available in the summer. They are available in most supermarkets and Walmart, Target etc. Other fav flavors are Cherry, Blueberry, Coconut, Peach, Orange
Should be around 17$

Thanks for info ! I've had peach green tea; found it too sweet, so I diluted it. Whenever I have a diet soda I dilute it at least half and half with water, or make it even weaker with a lot more water than soda. I usually never drink anything with sugar in it.
-
It was diet sugar free peach green tea, I meant to say, sweetened with Stevia, I think. I still diluted it with a lot of water as it tasted too sweet.
As for the fried onion sammys I mentioned, I have to put some ketchup on those. Which might sound gross to you (?). But I have to.
Fixing to fry up some cut up okra in olive oil. You don't have to put any gunk on them to fry them. Which makes it faster and more simple, and (to me) tastes much better. It's yummy for your tummy

Yes, sweetened with Stevia. I've been adding a Tablespoon of Bragg's Apple Cider vinegar to sweet drinks. It's good for what ails you. I water them down sometimes too.
The onion sandwich sounds pretty yummy. I don't think okra is very available here. Haven't seen it.

I heard about "banana bread popcorn," sounds good. I saw milk made from bananas at the store and might try it. I like those power soda drinks with amino acids, CQ-10 and vitamins and what not, especially in Berry Dazzle, Orange Dreamsickle and Fruit Punch flavors. They come in a lot of flavors. I read somewhere they're not so good for the kidneys and try to remember to dilute them with a lot of water, but too often I've just been scarfing them down full strength. I only get zero sugar ones. No calories, or very few.
Maybe you can't get okra up North !!?? That's a pity. I love fried squash too.
I hate to say it, but we've got black cooks working in my little town and their soul food is soooo good, their fried chicken and cheeseburgers and barbecue ribs. Pork chop sammies. I try not to partake of those often. Oh and their seafood. We've got a little Chinese restaurant that's very popular. I try to stay away. And a Mexican eatery and Italian. All pretty tasty. But only now and then, and I try to never, but sometimes succomb.
I've been getting thin crust califlower crust veggie pizza sometimes. It's store bought and I'm sure would be better for one homemade. But it's convenient to get it from the grocery store. I saw chocolate sunflower butter and tried it. It's pretty good. And non-glycemic cheese straws I got taste richer than the regular kind.

I ate the thin-crusted cauliflower veggie pizza, and despite not having much flavor it still tasted good, in a weird way. My sis acted like she'd want more of it, too. It's store bought so I fear it might have some dodgy preservatives, although touted as health food. I'll need to read its ingredients list more carefully.
Ugh, I bought a "Carnival Candy" flavored "power" soda, by mistake. It tastes too sweet, yet boasts zero calories. I should have diluted it a bunch, with water. Sometimes a devil in me makes me scarf down these things full-strength. Although candy-flavored, it still has B-vitamins, CQ-10, amino acids, electrolytes and is a hydrating liquid. I fear these sorts of things aren't the best for the kidneys, so I should always dilute them at least half and half.
But sometimes I think, many imbibe hard liquor, why can't I have a full strength power drink sometimes?
I've been a teetotler for donkey's years.
I bought sugar free ketchup, a different kind of it, last time and hope the store continues to carry it.

I dared to eat a container of yogurt flavored with strawberry rhubarb and feel kind of sinful. Regretful. It went down tasting good, though. You're supposed to eat plain very low or no sugar Greek yogurt topped with fresh fruit such as berries, which I try to stick to, but then I come across something good now and then like baked apple caramel yogurt and also whipped cherry cheesecake yogurt, and find myself thinking about those and wishing I had some, on rare occasions. If I bought some, I'd eat half of it with a little of a good kind of fat (the fat slows down sugar response considerably) and then the other half later. After a low carb and low bad kind of fats meal.
I eat only a few bites of the low carb ice cream I like, at a time. And only eat that in the summertime. You can find Halo Top and Rebel low carb brands, here.
-
I tried avocado salsa, creamy and a little too spicy, but okay. Been having all veggie stir fry, like it. I usually get more frozen veggies 'cause they don't rot. I like cauliflower rice better than cauliflower fake mashed potatoes. Pumpkin fritters, in moderation. Light or fat free topping sometimes added to them. Everything's coming up pumpkin now
-
Five cheese lasagna by Bird's Eye is tasty, also their other new meatless veggie lasagna. I liked the former so much that I bought all they had (LOL). 'Course then one tires of it. Marie Calander meatless veggie substitute pot pie is fairly consumable. Not all that much, though, and has too much pie crust.
I remember years back I'd take red cayenne pepper pills after I ate if it had been a substantial meal, and that practice made me feel good. I worked myself up to be able to take five or even six capsuels at a time. You could get red cayenne pepper pills quite cheaply from Walmart then. The price has probably gone up a lot. I might try that again.
I still like power sugar free sodas a lot, also diet cranberry juice and oat milk. I might try the milk made from bananas but it may prove to be too sweet.
I quite like Tostino's green avocada salsa. Bought four jars of it last time. (Laughs) To have with cauliflower cheese with sea salt crackers or on a baked potato, etc. Sometimes a few spoonfuls straight from the jar! Daring !
Autumn Squash soup by Pantera tastes good, but has too much sugar. I can't get that again. I like their Tomato and Basil soup. I prefer a lot of soup, especially in Fall and Winter. Cream-based soup is more caloric, but sometime I go hog wild and get it. I try not to eat much else that day when I eat the cream-based. I usually get lite sodium and heart healthy soup.

made shortcake
s with fresh fruit, blueberries, mangoes, peaches, pineapples, cherries and sometimes with a medley of various fruits, not
just with one fruit. Shortcake doesn't have to be just peach shortcake. I made it with yellow desert shells and sugar free
cool whip. I like to make simple things that are easy.

I meant to write it doesn't always have to be the classic "strawberry shortcake" but goofed and put "peach shortcake" instead. I finally let myself try smoothies, these say "No sugar added" but this brand still has a lot of carbs, it feels wickid. A big no no, in a way. Dawg gone, smoothies taste good, and these have a lot of vitamins. "Green Goddess" flavor is super good. And the mango one and vitamin C power one, but they're all delicious.

Nut butters are really awesome, it's a traditional dish in some parts of Russia, and because of that, it's relatively easy to find pine nut butter, walnut, hazelnut butter... I've been using these a lot over the last 6 months (I didn't know about it before then), and don't plan to stop!
