Maybe people were naïve in the past for believing everything they read, but there used to be things like journalistic integrity and double confirmation. Yahoo news articles are pretty terrible, and they go nuts for all that click bait nonsense. They don't care about the article at all, as long as you click on it. That's why I never look at Yahoo articles. I'm sure I'm not the only one. They've probably lost more readers than they realize. The days of only having your local newspaper and TV news are long gone. We all have a million other options. When there's more competition, you swing for the bleachers. You don't pack up and go home.
I'm not saying that the prevalent media behavior is good or smart, I'm just describing what's going on. As for those million other options, enjoy them while you can. More than you can imagine are struggling to stay afloat.
