the band interesting fact

Wings (all configurations) was a BAND unit. His current players are "book ahead and ring me" backing players. BUT!!! ... that's not a knock on them. In fact, his current band is my favourite touring combo...and that includes Wings!
Exactly. These guys are excellent session musicians. Paul gets along well with them, which is why he rehires them. But you know I was thinking, I mean Wings was a Band, but of course Paul was the boss always. In truth it has always been that way since the end of The Beatles. The Beatles was a democracy and The Apples are still a democracy till this day.

Paul WANTED Wings to be a real little rock and roll band. But he has always been the main guy in every band since the Beatles. And why not? If that's what he wants. But the current band has less "spotlight" than any previous band, even to the level of not getting introduced on stage. Denny Laine sang a handful of songs on stage and record, and so did Jimmy McCulloch, to a lesser degree. Robbie McIntosh always had a solo guitar spot in concert, and Hamish had the odd solo vocal on Coming Up and other places. It's all good. Each line up has served its purpose in its time. The 80s and 90s live band now sounds very 80s to me, as they should.
