Berlin, Germany - Waldbuhne - June 14th - ARCHIVE
-
I queed for 3 hours the first night in Amsterdam and got 2nd row almost dead centre. Ran past many on my way in though! As long as the weather is decent queeing is a great part of the build up to the show I think!

This is my first time seeing Paul. I bought a ticket to the show in Dusseldorf (Block 11A) but I am thinking of trying to call eventim.de and switch to the Berlin show. The Waldbuhne definitely looks like a nicer venue, but what I'm most concerned is being able to get as close to the stage as possible. It looks like standing room in Berlin might actually the best option, but I've never been to something like this and I don't know. Any thoughts?
Waldbuhne is an amazing venue and the whole standing area is rather small, so even in the back you are rather close. Anyway, I am pretty sure eventim won't let you switch tickets. You can try, but I remember that in 2012 they screwed up big time when starting the pre-sale for the Springsteen concert in Berlin. If I remember correctly, they gave a wrong name to the FOS section, (some name which made absolutely no sense) and didn't include the venue map. They corrected it the second day, when a lot of people had already bought their GA tickets, believing they would be able to get close to the stage. If I remember correctly, they didn't succeed in cancelling they order, they recieved some reply like that they had ordered GA tickets and they would recieve what they had ordered.
Thanks for the input. I'm looking at eventim's policy now and no refunds or exchanges, it appears. Disappointing but not unexpected. I'm considering buying a Berlin ticket and then trying to sell the Dusseldorf one. Definitely can't afford to lose any more money over this, but I can't help but be a little disappointed in the Dusseldorf venue. I bought the ticket really quickly without considering too much, thinking they would sell out within minutes, but now that I'm looking at the venue it just seems so impersonal compared to Waldbuhne.
why don´t you do both shows then? You have a very good seat in Dusseldorf! Yes Waldbühne is nice but you won´t get as close

I'd LOVE to do both, but I don't have the money and it doesn't really work with my travel plans. I currently have tickets for both, and the ticket for Berlin is standing room. Still trying to figure out which one to do.

You have a standing ticket for the amazing Waldbuhne, where in the pit you will be really close wherever you are and another ticket for Dusseldorf - a ticket in the A11 section, which as I understand is far far away on a tribune of an anonymous football stadium. And you can only make one show. What are you deciding on? I think the choice can not be easier!

Queuing is fun but what terrifies me is the run to the stage when they open the doors.

At the Waldbühne it is not allowed to run, because it's very dangerous with all the stairs. They have lots of ushers to prevent people from running.

From my experience the ushers can't do much if alot of people run. I usually walk very fast but in Amsterdam I got frustrated when alot of people who I had waited much longer than ran past me Is it a long way to the stage from the entrance at Waldbühne??

Yes. After the ticket control you have to walk quite a bit til you see the arena. From there you have to walk down the 88 steps from the top to the bottom.

I am really worried..
Don't be. It is an amazing venue with unique atmosphere which adds A LOT to the concert experience. I have been there once - saw The Rolling Stones there in 2014. Since I hadn't been there before, I was worried about a lot of things. For instance I had a standing ticket (just like now for Paul) and from the pictures I was worried that since there are no barriers between the lower sectors and the standing pit (which was sold out in seconds in pre-sale, no ticket went to the regular sale) except of the low hedges, that people will invade the pit and it will be extremely overcrowded. The reality was that it was all very calm and civilized. There were a lot of helpful organizers everywhere, I haven't seen any problems of that kind (or any other). As for the distance - yes, it is a bit of walking and then a couple of stairs, but nothing that would make you tired or anything. It is absolutely fine. Another thing that worried me were toilets, I expected a couple of movable cabins with long queues. There is actually a little building with enough of regular (and clean) toilets. Yes, it is at the top of the stairs, but again, it is no big physical effort. I guess there are another toilets on the other side too. So again, don't worry, just look forward to it, you are in for a treat!

Thank you for the lovely reassuring post. I am looking forward to the gig. On the topic of toilets... Is there access to them while queuing befor the gig?

I don't remember that, I came about 1/2 an hour before the gates opened so I didn't need that. I guess there were some toi-toi movable cabins, but I don't really know. Once you are inside, there is some small quite shabby cabin close to the entrance and then those main toilets on the sides of the actual venue, which as I remember were good.

Front of Stage standing tickets available again, and every other category, too: http://www.eventim.de/Tickets.html?affiliate=EVE&kuid=487&jumpIn=yTix&action=tickets&doc=artistPages/tickets&from=erdetaila&fun=artist&key=1007599$7582506&language=en Seems they have lots of tickets still to sell - even in this "small" venue.
-
I've got 2 standing pit (Stehplatz Inneraum) Berlin Waldbuhne tickets for sale (face value of course). These could be dispatched immediately via courier/signed for mail. Selling them in pair or separately. PM me for details.
-
I also have a standing ticket available for sale. Face value obviously. The ticket arrived last week so I can send in the mail / courier straight away. Message me for details, thanks!
-
