In the '70s, Macca said: "They come to the show Beatles fans, but they leave Wings fans." And it that's what happened. Hasn't the time finally come for Macca to tell the press: "They come to the show Beatles fans, but they leave Paul McCartney fans."
Yes, time came about 15 yrs ago IMO.

In a concert setting, I'd probably prefer more Wings than any solo stuff. I wonder if it's my age and the memories of those albums as they were released? Anything that's new and different would be nice at this late and maybe final, stage.

I first saw Mr. McCartney in 1976 with the WOA tour which was fantastic !! That tour covered the best selling and critically received albums by Wings. There were two albums after the 1976 tour (London Town & Back To The Egg) but they did not do very well and doubt there were more than 1-2 songs on both that people would really care about hearing live. Mr. McCartney has done almost all of BOTR after Wings disbanded and has done at least 1 song live off RAM, Venus & Mars and Wings At The Speed Of Sound. Due to that, I personally would rather hear solo songs live.

Good points and therein lies the problem. No matter what songs he chooses he won't please everybody ... BUT, he knows a Beatles heavy setlist pleases the MAJORITY of concert-goers. Sadly for we hardcore fans, he's right. As I see it the only way around it is a few theatre type shows dedicated to Wings and or solo. But he's just not adventurous that way. He probably figures "What the hell I gave 'em Unplugged..." He's teased us that way...remember he flirted with the idea of an all Fireman gig?

Yeah, and he also said that they considered playing the whole of NEW live. I wonder what happened to that idea?

Yes! Good pickup mate! Too rich to bother...and that saddens me. Don't wanna do it? Don't mention it!

"Good points and therein lies the problem. No matter what songs he chooses he won't please everybody ... BUT, he knows a Beatles heavy setlist pleases the MAJORITY of concert-goers. " The difference in people like myself is that I understand it will be a majority Beatles show and that is fine. My wish is that the remaining 10-12 songs be something from his solo career that he has never done or has not done in 25 years like "My Brave Face" for example.

Exactly. His wealth and his age means that he is not going to challenge himself at this stage in his life. Doing what Springsteen is now doing with the album "The River" needed to be done about at least 5-10 years ago.

I couldn't have imagined in 1990 I'd be desperate to hear Figure Of Eight live again in 2016!

That was the beginning of the one and done with solo albums. Once they were no longer the latest record they were basically forgotten.

Even the 79 Wings tour ignored Venus and Mars and At The Speed of Sound, except for Cook of the House. Still, it was a very contemporary set list that played songs from London Town and Back to the Egg. Wish I could have seen that tour.

He ignored (in concert) Venus and Mars album from 1979 until 2010's Up and Coming tour!

Exactly and he did abbreviated Venus and Mars/Rock show which was disappointing IMO.

Three complete shows with no repeats. Let that sink in... Ween perform career-spanning 33-song set for first reunion gig of 2016: http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/02/ween-perform-career-spanning-33-song-set-for-first-reunion-gig-of-2016/

I'm a huge fan and have seen PM in concert 3 times over the last 10 years. The shows are always great, but it would be nice if PM changed the songs more. Of course some songs will always have to be played, but for 'TRUE' McCartney fans, we would love to hear more of the lesser known songs. Almost every song would sound great live. Some suggestions: Dear Boy, Back Seat of My Car, Cafe on the Left Bank, London Town, Little Lamb Dragonfly, Big Barn Bed, Peace in the Neighborhood, Come On People, Looking for Changes, Wild life, Dear Friend.

What you suggest has been suggested thousands of times already. And it ain't gonna happen!

I'd settle for a live-stream event, similar to The Secret Website Show -- but in real time. Hand-picked audience. all-solo songs, streamed online live. 'Twould be a fine thing.

" Hand-picked audience. all-solo songs, streamed online live. " I assume you are one of the ones to be handpicked - lol

You know what? In all honesty -- if it ensured that a show like this would happen, I'd gladly give up my seat and watch it online ... ...and then buy the DVD.

What songs did he played on this "secret show"?
