Standing for Berlin available right now! http://www.eventim.de/paul-mccartney-berlin-tickets.html?affiliate=ETA&doc=artistPages%2Ftickets&fun=artist&action=tickets&key=1007599%247582506&jumpIn=yTix&kuid=487&from=erdetaila
Good, but no e- tickets it would appear. And outrageous postal charges for buying from abroad.

This is my first time seeing Paul. I bought a ticket to the show in Dusseldorf (Block 11A) but I am thinking of trying to call eventim.de and switch to the Berlin show. The Waldbuhne definitely looks like a nicer venue, but what I'm most concerned is being able to get as close to the stage as possible. It looks like standing room in Berlin might actually the best option, but I've never been to something like this and I don't know. Any thoughts?

Waldbuhne is an amazing venue and the whole standing area is rather small, so even in the back you are rather close. Anyway, I am pretty sure eventim won't let you switch tickets. You can try, but I remember that in 2012 they screwed up big time when starting the pre-sale for the Springsteen concert in Berlin. If I remember correctly, they gave a wrong name to the FOS section, (some name which made absolutely no sense) and didn't include the venue map. They corrected it the second day, when a lot of people had already bought their GA tickets, believing they would be able to get close to the stage. If I remember correctly, they didn't succeed in cancelling they order, they recieved some reply like that they had ordered GA tickets and they would recieve what they had ordered.

Thanks for the input. I'm looking at eventim's policy now and no refunds or exchanges, it appears. Disappointing but not unexpected. I'm considering buying a Berlin ticket and then trying to sell the Dusseldorf one. Definitely can't afford to lose any more money over this, but I can't help but be a little disappointed in the Dusseldorf venue. I bought the ticket really quickly without considering too much, thinking they would sell out within minutes, but now that I'm looking at the venue it just seems so impersonal compared to Waldbuhne.
-
The Berlin standing is sold-out most of the time, but they drop some tickets every now and then - they have them right now actually. If you have a good ticket for Dusseldorf, it should not be a problem to sell it. You can do it here (no more than the face value!): http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=86660

My experience is: soundcheck people are First. Then early entry. Then normal tickets.
So if I get early entry (not soundcheck), do I have a shot at first row? or will the soundcheck people fill it all? What's row can I expect? I find it difficult to justify the souncheck price, mainly concerning how far we'll be in the actual soundcheck...
-
Can't stop agonizing over these tickets. Any idea what is better for viewing the stage, standing room or Block E? They're the same price. I'm guessing being short would be an issue for standing room, or do people tend to just sit on the floor?
-
There will be no seats on the floor, everybody will stand. The stage at Waldbuhne is quite high though, deffinitely highter than say a regular arena stage, which hepls shorter people to see beter from "inside" the crowd, don't know how to say it better The lower blocks A - E are still quite close and with the elevation there surely will be a great view. It is only up to your decision. For me the only choice is the standing pit. I want to be CLOSE

Nobody can say for sure, depends on how many people will buy those special packages. The last year in Amsterdam I was standing in the centre of the 4th row with a regular ticket. I wouldn't find it worth it paying multiple the price for being 1-2 meters closer. But it is a matter of an opinion of course.

Did you queue very early?
-
No, since about half past four, which secured me the centre of the 4th row on the second Amsterdam night. There were waaaay more people queuing on the first night (Sunday). I also came at half past four and got a decent spot - also some 4th row or so, but way on a side, so I was noticeably further from Paul.

The second Amersham night had less than 20 VIP package holders
