Must be the most disappointing setlist watch since the night On the Run was unveiled as Up and Coming Version 2 Looks like those at the gig had a ball though!
-
Other than the 1979 shows, I think this might be my first tour without Long and Winding Road...interesting that it's out after all these years...
-
Bottom line, fine, I'll see the show if he happens to bring it local to Florida later in the year. But I am not planning any roadtrips based on this. I was contemplating booking a vacation around one of the dates this summer, but not worth it to me if this is what he's playing.

IMO it will interessting to see how the ticketsale are going on. Especially for concerts not announced till yet. I can imagine that this setlist stops not only your and my concertplans. IMO there are a few more fans not motivated to buy one more ticket for nearly the same old offer

I preferred the "Out There" tour setlist.
-
Watched from 6am until 8am your setlist live report. thanks to you! I?m disappointed, too. Letting go is great. But please....he has hundreds hundreds thousands of songs. why not change a bit.... Probably he thinks there are 200 fans who have seen the concerts already and 18.000 newbies, who haven?t. So he plays for them.
-
I see a lot of jaded complaints; perhaps they are most warranted because we've each seen him multiple times over the last 14 years with this band. But at this point in the game each 'new' tour only really gets around 3-5 new additions to the setlist. This is hardly new to all of our wishful expectations. Let's just be appreciative that he can still come near us every 3-4 years unlike David Gilmour; three major US cities once every 10 years. Unfortunately it would probably take a five year touring break from Paul to find ourselves a little bit more appreciative of these songs again. Obviously it won't happen but I think it's needed. It's the very nature of this over saturation of touring since 2002 that we find fault with this teenaged setlist.
-
First, I am not disappointed with the setlist at all. I was not expecting more changes than were actually done and those "new songs" - Hard Day's Night, Love Me Do, Fool On The Hill, In Spite...Just great, me thinks! BUT...now I watched the first Youtube video... the f...g "elevator" stage again! Why, why, tell me why? So there is no way to be really close no matter how long you wait! That is the big let-down for me. I really didn't see that one coming.

Waiting for the pro-shot video, if anyone finds, please post a link

Hey all- I was at tonight's show. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good show for the most part. I think the first half of the show was really great with all of the new additions, but the second half really suffered because of the lack of newer of material. As a result, the second half feels totally tacked on, and just feels like "Out There" all over again. I really wish that he'd shake up the second half as much as the first.

I just uploaded video
Somebody knows more concerts? http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=91523 -
I find the complainers disrespectful and considering this is Paul's official site pretty dis gusting.Paul does not tour for your private needs.Paul tours for the majority, and I am certain that the lucky folks coming out of last nights show had huge beaming smiles. So what there are not any new songs.I thought the set list was neat. And tweeting your complaints to Paul after the man has stood there on stage and sung his heart out is in pretty poor taste..Be thankful he is still showering the world with his gifts and stop being so darn selfish.

Look, there has to be discussion on the merits of Paul's setlist. It's called a discussion board for a reason. If everyone agreed on everything all the time, it would get boring here pretty quick.

As I read these posts it never ceases to amaze me how much negativity there is surrounding these concerts / setlists. One day, maybe sooner than later you all won't have anything to bitch about. Don't you realize that, as a previous poster suggested there are more people that haven't seen him than have. Temporary Secretary is as deep a cut as you're going to get. He's never going to abandon the workhorses so just give it up. If you're unhappy with the setlist, deal with it cuz it's getting real old.

I understand what you're saying, we just a little disappointed from the setlist because we expected a new tour (as all the media+MPL published) and we got basically the same think, if this was another leg of the Out There your no one had nothing to complain about. All of us (I think) are thankful and appreciate that Paul is still rocking at 74, this is truly amazing, we just hoping for some setlist changes for fans who saw him more than one time.

Come on, really? Opening a concert with "A Hard Day's Night" and ending it (or near the end) with "Birthday" isn't good enough for you? I can't believe that there are people out there that believe that just because the tour name (which doesn't mean a damn thing) changes it will in turn eliminate songs like "Hey Jude" and "Back In The USSR". At this point in his career I firmly believe he is cementing his enormous legacy in history by attempting to reach as many people (especially young people- hence the festivals and collaborations with younger artists) as possible through all this extensive worldwide touring. Playing deep unrecognizable PaulMcCartney solo numbers will not achieve this. Playing more familiar Classic Beatles songs that have an important role in music history will. Here's a newsflash- most people that attend a Paul McCartney concert are there to hear "Hey Jude" than "Flaming Pie". One more thing- who cares about a rising platform? I guess some people just need a reason to complain.

I don't think anyone is expecting songs like "Hey Jude" or "Yesterday" to be eliminated. In fact, I think those songs should be included just based upon how iconic they are. It's like Billy Joel playing "Piano Man" or The Rolling Stones playing "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction". When you go see artists like those, their big identifiable songs should be played. What a lot of us are saying is that Paul should pepper his setlist with a few more of his solo songs. Not every song needs to be super obscure, but something like "Let Me Roll It," which he's been playing for a good 14 years+ (and telling he same story to go along with it), is getting kind of stale, to be honest. Consider that Paul is going to be 74. I know he's set in ways in some regards to the setlist, but he only has so much time until he's not going to be touring anymore, and I wish he'd branch out just a bit more. The first half of tonight's show was an example that he can do it.

As a mostly a Beatle fan I like the songs he's put in. Here there and everywhere is my favourite song, and would love to see him perform AHDN and love me do. Hope he comes to the UK.

In my Memory we got similar discussions with the beginning of all new tours at least since "On the run" Tour. IMO the entitlement of both opinion is given!!! Paul is in his 70's and only god knows how long it will goes... At this point of tour history and in combination with the fact that since the "up and coming tour" there were some interessting enrichments from the 70's at least (venus & mars rockshow, juniors farm, listen to what the man said, another day) and the upcoming release of Pure McCartney... the current setlist is for some fans something like a roll back. There was unfortunatelly now new wings or solo song added. I bought tickets for 2 shows this year. I'm glad I didn't bought tickets for the prague concert (only 150 km from here). "The Price-performance ratio" is against No one really asks to drop Hey Jude... it's Sir Pauls himself who can influence wheather his legend "narrows" to the beatles + few wings/solo songs or his complete lifetime achievement. P.S. Does someone remember one of the last Paul interview from 2015 where he told, that he would like to performe other songs...?
